Hey guys. I have never been on Dr. Doom's Fear Fall ride before and I was wondering if you could tell me about it. The main thing I am concerned with is, after the attendant help you into your seat and you are locked in the safety restraint, does he leave and go through the door with Dr. Doom's face on them, leaving you all along in the launch area?

No, the TM goes through a side door where you would exit from. Still, its you and the Dr. and 3 of your friends (or strangers)

ok. because my mother is claustrophobic and if any doors shut and she feels like she can't get out she will get all upset. so the guy just leaves through a door but no doors close in front of your face right?

well she shouldn't feel claustrophobic since there is nothing above you but sky, and the doors are a good 3-4 feet in front of you. The doors do close but usually Im so busy putting my seat belt on to notice

ok thanks. I'll try to distract her by telling her to get the seat belt on. i did tell her about having sky above her but she is still a tad worried. it's gotten worse as she has gotten older. she isn't even afraid of dropping or being blasted off. just the claustrophobia. oh, and is the waiting line like in a cave? because she'll hate that.

yep, isnt it required?

It is required. The TM in the control booth can stop the ride if they catch someone unbuckling their seatbelt.

Sure, the seatbelt doesn't really do anything, but safety is safety.

Hey I work at Doctor Doom.

The queue line is dark, the beginning of it just goes through 2 rooms that have blinking lights on the walls and such, and the main queue room is the Gallery, which has 3 ramps going up with a projection screen on the wall telling the story of the ride.

Yea, you enter into the chambers and pull the harness down and fasten your seatbelt. The doors you just walked through will close in front of you, but they're far enough way to not feel confined.

Their are also storage compartments on the side. Put anything you want in there. That box goes nowhere, and no one is allowed to be inside the chambers when the ride is in the air. Not even the people who work there.

Basically when the attendant checks everything and leaves the chambers, he is locked out and cannot come back unless he needs to. He can unlock the door if the Tower estops for some reason, but if the Tower is in the air, and that door opens, the ride estops.

So anywho, their are also security cameras in the chambers watching you. So don't do anything dumb like take off your seatbelt. Because we will stop the ride and it will be your fault.

thanks for all of the information guys. I really want to go on the ride, but because i've never been on it, I'll only go if my mother and brother will go on it with me. so i want to make sure my mom will feel ok. she does loves those types of rides so i'm sure she'll stick it out to experience the fun!

oh yeah, for the guy who works there, if the line is really short, are you able to completely bypass the holding area with the video and just get right on the ride? like with the express pass do you still have to watch that movie? and how long is the movie?

does anyone have a sense of humor anymore?

Safety trumps humor. But it can be used in a sneaky way. I never have, but nowadays, I'd do this:

If someone has a coin in their hand/on their leg (trying to do that "gravity" thing), I'd confiscate it and be like "lunch money! Thanks!" and keep walking. And no, they would not get their coins back.

The coins would actually be put into McEligott's pool.

The movie is continuous. If the line is short enough, you can blitz right on by, straight to the Latverian Official who will direct you to the proper tower and proper door.

Yea, it's not like a pre-show where you go a room and watch the story.

The Express Line is actually one that I hate. It goes back, around a corner, up some stairs, and lets on right at the doors. So you skip the entire indoor queue.

Express line = short line, no AC
Regular line = long line, AC

I usually tell people to at least go into the regular line just to look around, as it is kinda cool.

Sorry man, it's just the thing that really irritates me.

We go down for guests unbuckling seatbelts several times a day. I think it's the dumbest thing ever.

I'll walk past the seats, then people take off their belts. I go back and tell them it's secure. I walk away, they do it again. I tell them stop messing with it, then over the cameras I see them do it again! Now the ride is down because it was preparing to launch.

If they're sorry about it, ill let them back on. If they were jerks about it, I'll kick them off.

Doom actually has one of the coolest/most underrated queues in IOA.

"You're listening to KDOOM radio!"
^^^^^
Actual line heard in the queue.

then they're idiots, because the cameras on DD are plainly in sight. popping the belt won't get you any extra airtime
