Doctor Disney reporting DDP snack removals...(update:Just a glitch!)

If this was true, I think I would seriously consider not purchasing the dining plan. I can though see this as a possibility at say the F&GF, but for the everyday snack needs I don't. Although we generally don't go full out on snacking the higher priced snacks, we do love the cinnamon bun at Gaston's!

This is exactly what I was afraid of when the supposedly positive changes were announced earlier this week.... :(

Ok...I guess the weight of the rock has been too much. Crawling out. ... can someone point me to a thread about this?

Well at least the doctor has just confirmed it is just a website glitch an all is well again

Where do you see the confirmation from Doctor Disney? The article just mentions that it may be a glitch and he is going to check on it.

I don't think there's any truth to this. In the things we've been seeing about the expansion of the Dining Plan offerings, all single serve items would now be available for snack credits. It makes no sense for Disney to make that change and then remove many of those same single serve offerings. I think PoohsHunnyBee is right about Disney trying to make it clear that places like Aloha Isle and Gaston's Tavern aren't Quick Service establishments.

Well, Gaston's WAS a QS restaurant...you could use a QS credit for the pork shank. Not sure if that changed before this, but it definitely used to be true. I checked that myself last night and it is one of the reasons I am concerned because, yes, the Disney site has always said non-QS restaurants do not accept DDP (Aloha Isle etc.) even if it has snack items but Gaston's did say some dining plans accepted.

I agree it doesn't make any sense to remove so many snack items. Moping it is true he has changed his tune and it is now a glitch.

Dr. Disney has updated his blog too. As I said above, the only actual change in status on the website was Gaston's, I guess he didn't notice the others always said "No Dining Plans Accepted" so it seems like this drama was of his own making. Very glad it seems to be resolved, that would have been bummer.

Unfortunately you can't believe anything that is on the WDW website.

He also mistook the fact that if a location sold only snacks (no meals) it has always been listed as "no dining plans accepted." Because that designation referred to the meal credits, not the snacks.

From what I read on some other sites, many of the snack vendors have already verified that they will still be accepting the dining plan. I think that their contracts might need to be renegotiated to include the new verbage.
