This happened here where I live, the local paper say she was drinking until around 8:00 that night then had a service drive her home, then shortly after arriving home, drove herself to the ex boyfriends..

Strange how irrational one can become when passions and obsessions are involved.

She reportedly was a supurb internist who often provided service and medication free of charge to her patients.

To put a face to the story, here is a photo of Dr. Jacquelyn Kotarac:

Sad to think that now, she will forever be remembered for the horrific way she died, and not all the good that she did for other people . . .

I'm so glad you pointed that out. It seems that everyone has nothing but good to say about her. This really seems to be a case of temporary insanity. She clearly wasn't thinking rationally. I feel bad for any family she has.

It was an extremely stupid thing to do, but imagine how she suffered until she died. It's so sad to me.

I imagine she died quite quickly. If your chest is compressed you can't draw a breath and you can suffocate within seconds. Around here people die every winter getting buried under snow - it's very, very fast.

Ah, didn't think about that. Was thinking of dehydration. And if I think too much about it, I start getting a little panicky thinking about being in that enclosed space...again, poor woman.

It is extremely hard to get a lifeless body up a ladder to the roof and then drop it in. The body is total dead weight.

I can also imagine the crazy lady on CNN at night that talks about nothing but murders will get months of material from this story.

Hmmm, I wonder where her car was. Seems like it would have been parked near the boyfriend's house. But even if it was, I'm sure nobody would think to look in the chimney!

They're very vague about alot of stuff. Like where did he spend the night that night? Then he went on a trip that they were planning to go on together (unless she bought a ticket herself and was going to follow him there). Sounds to me like another woman may be involved.

I think the media's being vague on purpose. I mean, considering that he's not a suspect, there's no reason to bring the other woman into this at all.

If you swap the genders, he starts looking like a woman trying to break free of a controlling, potentially-abusive relationship. I wonder what the doctor would have done if she'd managed to break into the house and found him inside?

This is so sad. It sounds like there were obviously problems and arguing going on and then after one to many drinks she went over to his house. She was not thinking clearly. I'm sure her emotions combined with the alcohol some how made her decide that the chimney sounded like a brilliant idea.
