Do your parents have rules about body modification?

I only have 2 holes right now, one in each ear lobe. I would love to get another hole in each! I'm also debating a belly button ring, but I have heard horror stories about them, so I'm not sure. Any of you have them?

And I'm also thinking about getting a small cross with thorns on my lower back. I want one that isn't visible to everyone.

Eek. My friend has a belly button piercing and it was infected for the longest while. It was disgusting.

I like lower back tattoos, even though there's the stigma of "tramp stamps", and I would get one if it weren't for one thing: you can't get epidurals.

I want a tramp stamp.


I have double piercings in both my ears.
Love them.
I want my nose pierced...
And a few tattoos.
My parents don't mind with the piercings.
The tattoos will have to wait.

I have a piercing in each ear I got when I was 6 months old. I'm happy I got them at that time, so I didn't remember going through the pain of them. They get infected all the time though so I don't wear earrings really. No more piercings for me.

I think I want a tattoo that says "Freedom, Beauty, Truth, & Love" from Moulin Rouge on my hip. But I'm not sure yet. My mom says once I'm 18 or when I move out I can do whatever I want. I can't remember which she said.

Ok, I don't think I'm going to do the belly button piercing.

So, why can't you get an epidural if you have a tattoo on the lower, almost on the tailbone part of your back? Dont they go higher up? (the epidural that is)

Emily, I really don't know WHY they can't do it, but I have heard of people being refused the epidural because of their ink. Maybe because they would have to inject through the ink, the ink could distort whatevers in the epidural? That's just a guess though.

my parents don't like them, but they said once i'm eighteen its my choice. M18th birthday is coming up so I'm stoked. I'm hoping to get a heart or a peace sign on my inner wrist. I have yet to decide which one. my best friend and I our going together. he's already 18 but hes waiting to do it with me. hes gay, so he's getting a rainbow heart tattoed on his sholder. its gonna be small like the size of a nickel. mine'll be somewhere around that dos.
