Do your kids wake up to an alarm clock?

Since dh started working nights a couple years ago, my oldest dd (almost 9 now) wakes up to an alarm clock during the school year, wakes her younger sister, they get dressed, and fix their own breakfast before waking dh to take them to school. I usually call from work to make sure everyone is up and going.

Just curious, do you wake your kids or do they get up on their own?

I really need to get her a new alarm clock -- not that I don't enjoy waking up to 'D-D-D-D-D-Dora! Dora the Explorer!'

I wake my daughter usually, but my alarm wakes her up when it goes off for me.

We tried an alarm clock for my oldest dd last year, after fussing with her in the morning. Now, when it goes off, she just cries! LOL

I need to get one for my DD. I think she should try to get up on her own. Although I know I'll come upstairs from the shower to find her still asleep.

I can relate as I just about cry every morning when it goes off too!

DD's been doing the alarm clock thing since she was 4. Goes off while I'm in the shower so that when I'm out she's up and dressed. Works great!

My oldest wakes up on his own, and my youngest usually needs to be woken up. I do that, so no alarm clock. In fact on our last WDW trip DS wanted me to buy him an alarm clcok. I laughed since he is up before 6:00 every moring.

Both of my sons have their own alarm clocks and get up on their own. They make their own breakfast too, usually cereal or toaster strudel. One time I woke up to the aroma of garlic bread baking in the oven! Not something you want to smell at 6AM!

I wake up just in time to make their lunches, give them a peck on the cheek, and watch them from the window as they board the school bus.

Then I go back to bed!

My sons (15 and 17) both wake up to alarm clocks.

My darling son is now 16 and yes, I still wake him up in the mornings. He has two alarm clocks, but won't turn them on. I am taking a day off work on Monday and intentionally plan to sleep late because I NEED it. I told DS last night that he was going to have to wake up on his own on Monday. I can see it now, I will be waking him up because I'll be nervous that he won't get up and get off to school. DH says I need to stop babying him and I know he's right, but he's my only baby....unless you count my little dog.

Mo WANTS an alarm clock but she doesn't need one. She is up before ours goes off!

Once they started full day school (1st grade) I had them start with an alarm clock. I was home and up but wanted to teach them to be responsible for starting their day.

DD does have an alarm clock but does not hear it going off. I get her up so she won't be late. Hoping to work on the alarm clock so she can learn to get up on her own. Don't want her depending on me to get up all her life.
