Do your kids get an allowance?

my dd doesn't get an allowance, but does get $$ from recyling bottles. We collect them from family members and she takes them down to the redemption center to cash them in. We go a few times a month, but it really adds up. She has to put half into her bank account, then with the remaining half we split 1/2 into her wallet and 1/2 into her piggy bank (which she saves for disney vacations, summer vacations, big purchases, etc.). We find that this works very well. She learns to save and also to recycle. She has her chores which she is expected to do also, but she doesn't get paid for those.
