Do your dining reservations affect your park schedule

I have a few days before i get my reservations and trying to find the easiest way to book our dining. We are staying 4 nights at Contemporary just basic tickets. I am writing down all the alternate places to eat.
I have certain parks planned but then if i dont get the reservation i want i guess i have to rearrange our park schedule. Does your dining schedule take priority over the park schedule. I do have one character meal which isnt in a park which wont affect which park we go to and makes it much easier, i was just wondering how do you possibly arrange this??? Does it get confusing on the phone trying to figure it all out and do you ever mess up and have to call back??.

Our dining determines which parks we visit on a given day and our resort location rules out restaurants that are tricky and time consuming to get to!

ADRs are affecting our park schedule - I wanted Tusker House safari breakfast for a Thursday, they are totally full. So I am thinking of switching park days.

Just the opposite actually...the Park days dictate my ADRs.

I am going to Disney for the parks - not the food. And being at the right parks on the right day (however you define that) is more important to a great Disney vacation then the restaurant.

In any case, I match my ADR to the park, so they are flexible as well. If I cannot get an ADR, then I'll move to a back-up choice.

Me too - there is no restaurant or meal at Disney that's so great that it would be worth switching my plans around for. Parks first, meals are a distant second.

I agree with the PP. The parks dictate the restaurants. We enjoy the food but the parks are what we enjoy the most.

Agree with pp, parks takes precedents over food. I plan my park days and try to find a TS for dinner that's in the vicinity. If one is not available we'll eat CS. I would not rearrange my schedule for any restaurant.

I set my park schedule first and then I make my ADRs. If I want a special ADR that I can only get on a certain day I will adjust my park schedule for that ADR, but that rarely happens.

This is exactly what we do.

The last 2 trips, I've planned my park days based on UG's recommendations, made my ADRs accordingly and then UG has completely changed its recommendations, sometimes more than once. By then, generally you can't get new ADRs for some of the most popular places, so my ADRs can govern my park days. Also, a hard to get ADR can govern my whole park schedule. Last year we could only get a Fantasmic package on one day and time the entire trip- so that day immediately changed to a DHS day and I had to rework the park plan. This year, the same thing happened with CRT. When I call, I try to have in mind what park days I might switch around if necessary and have the park recommendations I planned by in front of me to help with quick change decisions.

I was wondering as touringplans have already updated their crowd calendar for August.

I wanted Tusker House for a Thursday - can't get it. Should I try for a Saturday even though it is AM EMH for AK? WWYD?

I try to fit my ADRS to correlate with what park I want to go to that day. However, that doesn't always happen and I will adjust my park days if need be. Since we have park-hopper passes we can hit a meal at one park and then go wherever else we want to after that (or before that).

My ADRs are based on the plans for the day. I plan out each day and then decide which restaurant to dine in. :)

Are you going to attend AM EMH? If you are I would say do a late ADR. The latest you can get...probably 10:30. That way you get 2.5 hours of touring, a late breakfast and then attack the park again.

I plan my park days and then my ADR's around that.

I've never had to switch days around BUT touringplans did change around their best park days right before our trip and it was too late to reschedule. Oh well. We had park hoppers anyway.

Unless you are willing to be there for EE, I wouldn't do it. The park will be too crowded.
