sleep a lot during growth spurts? DD has been falling asleep really early this week. I attribute it to a growth spurt. Anyone else's kids do this?

YES!!! And sometimes their legs hurt so I'll rub them for them but it usually lasts just a few days.

Then again, DH can fall asleep at any time and I'm sure he's not growing anymore! (Except maybe around;) )

YES! And it's usually following by eating me out of house and home! My son is going through this now.....I keep telling him he must have a hollow leg!

mine also get grumpy, maybe from being tired more easily.....

Yes, and like SeaShelley said, they also eat me out of house and home!

Definitely!! Patrick is sleeping lots (at 14) and is already 5'9"!

I'm having the opposite problem!

DS7 is waking up sooooo early these days! Last night I let him stay up really late (11pm) in hopes of breaking this cycle, but NO, he was up at 7am. It's making us crazy. He used to sleep about 10-11 hours but now he sleeps only about 8 hours for the last 3 weeks or so. This means on school mornings he's up VERY early and cuts into me and DH watching the news in the morning. How do I break this cycle?

My girls did that too. Both sleeping and eating a lot right before they grew a couple inches. lol

I have an early riser, too. She's 14 now and getting better. I am NOT a morning person so I taught her to entertain herself/get herself a simple breakfast at a REALLY young age. Although re-reading your post, I'll bet his situation is temporary. I HOPE so!!!

It is hard to tell with DD. Bedtime is 8:00. She is up at 6:30 on school days and about 7 on weekends.

She must have been really tired. Shd didn't get up until 10:00 this morning. Of course, neither did I. I'm not a morning person at all!!! :D

She usually goes to bed at 10 or 10:30. She doesn't have any problems getting up in the mornings, but she doens't have to get up until 7:30 or 7:45. I'm not a strict bedtime person. She knows when she's tired and ready for bed and we've never had any problems.

Well, I'm sure they are done with their growth spurts, but I have 2 teen DD's that sure sleep alot!:):):)

DD is typically an early bird but when she's having a growth spurt, she sleeps til about 7:30 or 8. Which is like heaven to me!

And she gets "growing pains" in her joints.
