wash the shirts after you have ironed on the transfer? I prewashed them, inside out, no dryer sheet when I dried them. I have now ironed on the transfers. Do you wash them again before you wear them for the first time?

Thanks!! :goodvibes

I don't because I want them to be perfect for the parks. Sometimes the design gets very wrinkled in the wash (I think the bigger the design the more wrinkled it gets, in my opinion). I wait until after they have been worn once, just in case.

I am washing all of mine right now because I don't want to risk them bleeding should we get rained on next week. So I turned them inside out and washed with vinegar in cold inside out and dried them. The last one I just took out has a big transfer on it but it is not noticeably wrinkly. My DS would have been more upset if it had bled, so it is worth it to me to set it.

I sprayed mine with Scothgard to make sure they didn't bleed in the rain. It worked great. After ironing the design on, I sprayed the designs (especially the dark ones like Mickey heads) and let them hang for a day to get the smell of the Scothgard off. Then I packed them, without washing them. It rained a few times during our stay and none of the colors ran.

:thumbsup2 That is a great idea. When we went to Disney in Aug., we had designs on the back of our shirts and they did breed. Specially Animal Kingdom day. Wish i would have thought of that. :worship:

I can't take credit for the idea. I read it in a thread here. Someone else suggested it and I found it worked great.
