Do you wrap Santa presents?

Santa does not have time to wrap all the present for good little girls and boys

Of course not.
That's why he needs all those elves.

All of the Santa presents I had were always wrapped and all the Santa presents my kids get are always wrapped.

I can't imagine having unwrapped presents under the tree. I think our kids would be crushed. It would totally ruin the anticipation and excitement of opening each present one at a time.

Have any of you EVER seen an unwrapped present in Santa's gift bag on his sleigh????

Santa wrapped all of my presents when I was little. Santa never wrapped my husband presents and our kids also get unwrapped presents. I would perfer that they are wrapped but my husband won that battle. We wrap the presents from us.

Everything is wrapped each kid has their own paper and Santa cuts a small piece of the paper and tapes it to the wall by their bed so they know which packages are theres.

He wraps ours. That way the kids don't know what it is until Dad and Mom are there to see it also. They always get up before us. They open their stockings first.

Santa wraps all his presents at our house. He uses special santa wrapping paper. He tapes a small (wallet size) picture of whom the present is for sitting on his lap, with a short note thanking them for coming to see him. The note and picture is attached to the biggest present, with all the smaller presents surrounding it.

We always get pictures of them alone with Santa and together, just for this purpose.

Santa also is a sly fellow, and has a habit of hiding their stockings. The search for the stockings last year was the highlight of the morning, with DD3 jumping around the room looking for her stocking for 20 minutes, while DH and I sipped coffee.

Santa don't wrap at our house, he sets the presents up and places them in front of the tree.....this is usually the 1 biggest present.....last year that darn Santa brought a fish complete with tank even after Mom and Dad said NO...darn him! And he fills the stockings with unwrapped presents. All the wrapped presents are from mom and dad (we only have the one DS7). One problem is my DS always wakes up way too early, it went from 5AM to a whooping 2AM last year. I told him this year I'm going to super glue his door shut.. Maybe I will try the wrapping the room trick!

Growing up was very different in my house, we celebrated Christmas with the entire family at my grandmother house on Christmas Eve. We went to Midnight Mass and when we got back Santa had stopped by. By the time we got home, he had been to our house too (sometimes 2AM). We never made it to bed until wee hours of the morning.....but we all slept in very late too! We had a few little presents sometimes and one big one others. All presents were wrapped, even Santa wrapped. In my DH's house Santa didn't wrap and it was ALWAYS one big gift. BTW we both grew up in Missouri.

I have never wrapped gifts and I remember growing up and niether one of our gifts were ever wrapped. Santa just brought them that way all of the access paper was already gone and in the trash by the time we woke up.

For my 3 yr old Santa wont be wrapping gifts even though MIL is coming and she believes in it. But I will have to tell her that here in my house Santa doesnt wrap ;-)

I wrap all the kids Santa presents. Every child picks his/her own papers. Then we leave the paper and supplies out for Santa to use. actually I keep rolls of the same paper they picked and wrap for a few weeks before hand, There is no need for tags as each child's wrap is differant. Santa simply piles them Christmas eve and sorts who's is who's by the type of paper.

Everyone waits to open together, However when ever the first one gets up we all get up. usually its not till after 8am, because we have a big family party Christmas Eve and they are all sleeping in.

I wrap the gifts now, when the kids were little and the gifts were bigger we did not wrap.

We celebrate Christmas Eve. Santa comes to our house after dinner right before he starts his long trip. He gives each child there present, and they are wrapped. Then we do the rest of the family gifts. To keep Christmas morning fun as well Santa comes back on his way home and drops off the girls stockings while they are sleeping. We usually wrap some and leave some open. Big gifts...like a bike or a playhouse, that kind of thing...are left unwrapped, then there are some wrapped. Last year Santa brought a Gamecube as a big gift, we wrapped that, but left a few smaller gifts unwrapped.

I agree though, I would leave a Cinderalla's Castle unwrapped!

I wrap the things that they needed (i.e. clothes) and a few little small toys but anything they REALLY wanted that I over heard them tell Santa about stays unwrapped and taken out of the boxes and set out in front of the tree or fireplace. Also there is ALWAYS too much stuff to fit in the stockings so the stocking stuffers get set out by the stocking on the couch ....Each at opposite ends so they don't get confused as to who's is who's and they don't fight over stuff.

I normally by this point have all the wrapped gifts under the tree but this year I am gonna wait until I put them out!!! SOMETHING DIFFERENT!!!

Isn't it great how everyonehas their own traditions.

In the UK kids leave their stocking on the end of their bed when they go to sleep and Santa fills it during the night so it is the first thing they can open when they wake up.

The rest of the presents are under the tree in the living room.

Some people wrap the presents in the stocking, some dont, but I've never heard of the ones under the tree being unwrapped. Also some people put them under the tree as they are given (by grandparents, uncles, aunts etc) and others hide them away and then they all magically appear overnight on Christmas Eve.

I wrap the gifts from Santa in special paper -- one type for each child. I also use special tags so that my DS doesn't recognize my handwriting. Santa has been "borrowing" our computer for years. He even leaves notes this way.

To wrap large items, such as a bicycle--I saw bicycle gift wrap at Party City. I had the impression it was a large bag-thing. I bought one to wrap a large stuffed animal in. Also try paper table clothes for large wrapping paper.

Santa wraps our presents in special paper with his picture on it and labels the gift with the child's first and last name so he knows which Kristi or Emily on his route it's for. The rest of the presents are all under the tree weeks ahead of time so the kids know what the pile looks like and Santa's gifts really stand out on Christmas morning.

All of a sudden, DH has decided Santa gifts need to be wrapped! His family only ever gave candy and little doodads (stocking stuffers) from Santa but they never had stockings. VERY WEIRD traditions! We always got the biggest gift from Santa and it was always set in front of the pile with no wrapping or box or anything. So I have compromised that Santa will wrap but in something distinctly different - like plain paper since all of my wrapping is printed.

None of our gifts go under the tree until the kids are in bed on Christmas Eve - they are too young (3 and 1) to not tear them open early!!!

I still remember my sister and I sneaking out of our room very early in the morning to see what santa brought. Usually one or the other would go and report back what we had seen. Nothing was wrapped so we were able to easily see what santa brought.
Now to combat that I have bought some material velvet like that is christmas themed. I am making a large drawstring bag that can be closed with a zip tie by santa. We currently have only one child but the idea is that santa brings you the bag your first christmas and then on christmas day he returns to pick it up along with your thank you note. When we have our next child they will have their own. It saves me from having to wrap everything.

Oh, I love the drawstring bag! Its elegant in its simplicity! Also, look at all the work you're saving!

I used to not wrap presents, however, I found that by wrapping presents it slows the kids down so they can't tear into everything at once. However, Daddy can "play Santa" and distrubute the toys one at a time from the bag. Also, just think of the money you save on wrapping paper. Great idea!
