I was just wondering if you work? Did you change your work schedual around when your child was born? OR do you stay home and are going back to work when child(ren) are/is going into school?

Nope I stay at home but I'm going crazy this summer. This is the first year my DS is working and I'm by myself and going nuts. I'll be so happy when our daughter is here.

During school terms I am the substitute, carpool mom, I always take half the kids to this or that so I have tons to keep me busy.

Define "work"?

If you mean sit at a desk in my office surfing the web, then yeah I work. :teeth:

I couldn't decide whether to vote SAHM or yes, but have summers off. I substitute teach during the school year but still pretty much consider myself a SAHM because I revolve my schedule totally around the kids and only work when I want to.

I said yes and no, because I work about 10 hours a week, teaching piano lessons in my home.

I stopped working when I had DS10. 2 more DSs since then, and still home. I don't regret it at all, but I have to say I had an easy job, so this is way more work! And I had weekends off back then! :tilt:

I am a Stay at home Mom, with my own business. So I am a Work at home Mom. Since it is my own travel agency, I get to dictate my own hours & when I work. It is great!

Couldn't vote.

I don't work, but I am not a stay at home mom.

Yes, while my Dd's (12) are at school. I am home when they get off the bus. Wish I worked from home but wouldn't know what to do from home!

I work part time., Monday and Thursday from 7:30-12 and Wed and Fri until 4:30. I have tuesday's off. I love it. I live close to home so i can watch my kids get on the bus/off the bus. I can work from home. It's great!

I said yes and no. I was a first grade teacher for 5 years before dd was born. Once I had her I went on childcare leave and just subbed a couple of days a week to keep myself fresh in the classroom and get out a couple of days a week.

Now that my dd is starting Kng. in the fall I am suppose to go back full time. But I am not. My dd is only going to be 5 once and I could go back to teaching anytime. I will continue just to sub. I rather be home for her.

I am self employed and work from home.

I work when I have to and when I get the time ( often when the kidlets are in bed)

Yes, I am a working mom!!!

Sahm to dd8 and dd4. I don't think that I will go to work when dd4 goes to school though. My dh is a fireman and works crazy hours. We have to make family time whenever he is home. I don't want to get a 9 to 5 and never have the four of us be together. Besides, by that point he'll have tons of vacation and seniority. I don't want to get some crummy job where I have to beg for days off when he has soooo much freedom. He'll retire when we are 52 so at that point we are going to see the world!

I worked full time until this year and then decided to stay home full time with my kids because we could afford for me to. I still work full time, and harder than my desk job, and I don't get paid with the exception of hugs and kisses in between tantrums! LOL.
I plan on going back to school this Fall or Spring so I can get a job in the school system and be off when my kids are off. (NOT AS A TEACHER)

I work my a$$ off and love my job...seriously. BTW, DH and I work at an engineering firm and HE is my boss and the best one I ever had.

I work Mon-Thurs from 8-5 and am off on Fridays and weekends. It makes for a very hectic workweek and I get 80% of my salary. I wouldn't change it for anything!

Well, except another baby but don't tell that to DH! :ssst:

I work 9am-12pm during the school year but am off during school breaks and in the summer, Christmas. I am an aide in a school.
3 hours a day is more then enough for me. I have a child in middle school and one that is starting highschool, so I have a few hours after my job ends to come home and do housework, oh yea and read the disboards too.

I am the mother of a 10 year old who works full time. I stayed home with my son the first three years of his life, worked full time for 3 years, switched to part time for almost 3 years and then went back to work full time almost 2 years ago. During the summer DH tries to take a couple of Friday's off a month to spend one on one with DS, I take off a day here and there during summer plus a week of vacation. I take a week off at Christmas break to be with DS and we usually take time off at Thanksgiving. I work from 8-4 and DS goes to school from 8-3 so my schedule fits pretty well with his school schedule.
