do you wear things in the parks that you would not wear at home?

I dress for how I want to look in photos. A lot of J Crew, jeans & nice boots, tanks, cardigans. I never wear sneakers except at the gym, so boots it is.

YUP!

But I have to preface that by saying that I make "disney clothes," specifically disney skirts. Last trip we were there for 9 days and I made 5 skirts. I buy tacky disney fabric that would look really cute on a 5 year old on a normal summer day but very very odd on a grown-up. Granted it looks odd on a grown up in Disney too, but that is part of the fun! I matched each skirt with a brightly colored Ralph Lauren polo, so the waist up shots look "high class" and the full body ones look tacky as hell, just the way I like it! ;)

Well you can't tease us with these tacky skirts and not show a picture! i want to see what they look like! ;):thumbsup2 I did see a 30/40ish yo woman wearing a tiny tinkerbell outfit, complete with wings and all, makeup, sparkles, wand etc. But for some reason, it doesn't seem that out of place in the MK. :confused3:rotfl::rotfl:i mean, where else can you get away with that?

Me too, minus the boots and add a nice pair of sandals. If it's warmer, I am most comfortable in a sun dress, so a lot of my pictures from Disney have me in a dress.

Yep. Every Dec. a blinking Mickey necklace and Minnie Ears complete with sequins, bow and white fur.;)

My 8 year old was highly amused one October evening when she spotted a man dressed as described above - obviously going to MNSSHP. Kids say it like it is though: "I think he did a good job Mom. But I wouldn't want my dad to wear it!" :lmao:

No, not really. I dress quite formally in my daily life and feel very uncomfortable in T-Shirts, workout gear (when I'm not working out), and most "casual" clothes, so in the parks I generally wear polo shirts, chinos (if it's cool) or khaki dress shorts (in the summer), but it's because that's what I feel most comfortable wearing. I suggest you do the same, and wear whatever you feel most comfortable in, as nobody is going to care besides you.

:thumbsup2
A fanny pack! I certainly don't wear one at home, but it comes in soooo handy to hold the few items I need at the parks, while keeping my hands free.

:lmao:
Me too -This is what I thought of when I read the title of the post. I bought one for our last trip and was very glad I did - but they are seriously ugly!

Also, I would not wear any fashionable footwear to Disney (unless they are totally supportive, cushioned, and comfortable. Your feet will thank all who commented on this.......

I wear everything I have in real life and at the parks!!! I'm labeled as a disney dork, and don't really mind. I wore my seagull MINE MINE MINE shirt on Christmas day!!! I look for reasons to wear my tigger ears. Halloween I wore them at work!!

Here ya go!! This is an older pic, and I haven't seen the tigger ears in the parks in quite a few years. I also have a tigger santa hat that I wore Christmas eve at my dad's house!!! They all know I'm a tigger nut! I have leg braces painted in tigger stripes, personally autographed too!!! If you're a tigger nut like me...then you can appreciate it all!!! :)

This was the absolute best moment I have EVER had in WDW, I was in tears!!! I show off that the braces are autographed all the time, and of course I wear my leg braces all the time.

Bouncycat, those ears are sooooo cute. I see you are also a Tigger fan :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Where did you get your braces? That's not your regular store merchandise.

I dress pretty much the same except that I carry a small North Face backpack in WDW vs a purse at home. I wear a lot of solid color t-shirts with solid long color long sleeve ts both places. I like to layer. At home I don't wear sneakers as often but do occassionally but at Disney it's always sneakers (except this last trip which was freezing and I wore my Uggs!).

In the last year I have been trying to upgrade my wardrobe ala What Not To Wear - more sophisticated, more put together, etc. I have pretty much eliminated t-shirts and sweatshirts from my wardrobe - well, a few dressier t-shirts that can be layered, but the rest are gone. I am wearing more heels and cute flats and sneakers only for the gym.

However, most of what I know where seems awfully dressy for Disney. I do still have a pair of crocs and a pair keens in my closet.

Is there a difference between how you dress at disney and how you dress at home?

I have been doing the same the last few months....but I will have my Disney shirts for the parks, I go for comfort and weather, still want to look cute for pictures but comfort is #1 for me

I wear what is comfy! I dress down at Disney. I know I am going to sweat and get wet on rides and probably drip a Mickey Head Ice Cream bar on me so I wear things I won't worry about if they get dirty. I wear my sturdy, ugly orange crocs but I wear those at home too because they are so comfy!

NOOOOO!! Those are prescribed AFO's for foot drop, so I don't fall! They came white, DH painted them with orange spray paint, and then used a sharpie to make the black stripes. LOVE them now. Hated them at first, before paint. The fact that they are autographed are just classic, and I get complements on them ALL the time! Even from my drs! It was all DH's idea to paint them, and Tigger's idea to sign them, had to hunt down a black sharpie so he could sign them, but it was SOOO worth it!!

I'm a HUGE Tigger fan!!!! I like the seagulls from Finding Nemo too, but Tigger will always be my main man, besides DH!! :lmao:

:lmao:Lol, I could see they were genuine prescribed braces from the picture, that's why I asked. I thought maybe there was a secret Disney Medical Center you were keeping quiet about ;)

Your DH did a good job. From the photo at least, they look like they were made like that, hence my question.
