do you wear things in the parks that you would not wear at home?

:lmao:Lol, I could see they were genuine prescribed braces from the picture, that's why I asked. I thought maybe there was a secret Disney Medical Center you were keeping quiet about ;)

Your DH did a good job. From the photo at least, they look like they were made like that, hence my question.

Ah gotcha!! Nah, no secret, DH knows I'm nutso about Disney, so he puts up with it. Good man!! :lmao: I think he secretly likes it tho!!! I do wish they sold more Tigger stuff, but that's alright, I'll keep looking for more!!

Other than what I wear for band gigs, my wardrobe is the same at home and in the parks. One other exception is I always wear a hat in the parks since the sun is rough on my short buzz. Around home I'm not in the sun for prolonged periods.

Waaay back in the early 90s, I had a series of business meetings that took place in the now defunct Horizons pavilion in EPCOT; for some of the early meetings we all wore business suits. By the time the members of the work group became familiar with each other we would dress down to golf shirts and shorts.

We always went into the park for meals, and usually got funny looks. Once we were eating at The Living Seas while President Bush (Sr.) was touring the pavilion and the Secret Service secured all the exits while he was there. They definitely looked at us like there was no reason for anyone to be in the park wearing suits besides them. :\

I say wear anything you're comfortable wearing while walking & standing all day long, in unpredictable Florida weather, in tight crowds, on all sorts of uneven surfaces, and in windy or wet rides & shows. :)

Nope. I'm a low maintenance kind of gal - jeans, capris, T-shirts, sweatshirts. I do have nicer clothes for going out, but for Disney I dress for comfort, not fashion.

I wear some of my Disney shirts at home and I carry a D&B Mickey purse - I change into hospital provided scrubs at work, so it doesn't matter what I wear in..on weekends, I'm very much a jeans and sneakers girl.

NOOOOO!! Those are prescribed AFO's for foot drop, so I don't fall! They came white, DH painted them with orange spray paint, and then used a sharpie to make the black stripes. LOVE them now. Hated them at first, before paint. The fact that they are autographed are just classic, and I get complements on them ALL the time! Even from my drs! It was all DH's idea to paint them, and Tigger's idea to sign them, had to hunt down a black sharpie so he could sign them, but it was SOOO worth it!!

I'm a HUGE Tigger fan!!!! I like the seagulls from Finding Nemo too, but Tigger will always be my main man, besides DH!! :lmao:

Your dh did a great job!

I love Tigger too! How can you not love someone that bounces everywhere!

I bought cargo shorts for our last trip because I don't like to carry a bag. Otherwise, I'm all about comfort. If I'm clean and covered and comfortable, I'm happy.

Not really. On our last trip it was soooooo cold so I was able to break out some cute chunky sweaters, fitted "flannel" and my favorite knee high "Ugg" style boots. I would live in boots all year long if I could.

We're one of "those families" that wear matching outfits; so we definitely dress differently at home

:thumbsup2

:lmao:
Me too -This is what I thought of when I read the title of the post. I bought one for our last trip and was very glad I did - but they are seriously ugly!

Also, I would not wear any fashionable footwear to Disney (unless they are totally supportive, cushioned, and comfortable. Your feet will thank all who commented on this.......

If I can fit all my stuff into it, I have a "Gucci" fannypack. My bf hates it but I love it. It's also my Atlantic City bag.

It's the same as this one in black.

Yes and no! I always wear a Disney-ish shirt when I'm in Disney, and usually like shorts or something. I do incorporate that into my normal wardrobe at home.. but I usually dress it up more. Disney is pretty much about comfort- to an extent. (I am not a fan of sneakers - cute sandals all the way)

During the only mistake we've made going to the World, which was during the summer, there's no doubt that there were a tremendous number of people, who were trying to show as much skin and as many tattoos as possible with out getting arrested. I've never seen as many busted biscuit physiques and tramp stamps exposed in one place in my entire life. Do these people wear, or don't wear as few of clothes at home as was worn, or not worn around the World, I don't know.

In the last year I have been trying to upgrade my wardrobe ala What Not To Wear - more sophisticated, more put together, etc. I have pretty much eliminated t-shirts and sweatshirts from my wardrobe - well, a few dressier t-shirts that can be layered, but the rest are gone. I am wearing more heels and cute flats and sneakers only for the gym.

However, most of what I know where seems awfully dressy for Disney. I do still have a pair of crocs and a pair keens in my closet.

Is there a difference between how you dress at disney and how you dress at home?

I can't say I dress any different for Disney except for Shoes and Hats. Granted, I haven't upgraded my wardrobe like you, but I wear pretty nice t-shirts.

I'm not a sneaker girl at home, but comfortable walking shoes are a necessity for miles and miles of Disney walking. Heels and cute flats would cripple me and frankly, aren't good for your feet if you do that kind of walking in them.

Also - I find the Florida sun to be pretty brutal, so at some point during the day, I end up in a baseball cap.

Weather is key too. If it's ridiculously hot, I'm not going to dress in something that will make me sweat, cause that's gross.

As long as you're comfortable, I wouldn't worry about it.

For the most part, I dress at WDW like I do at home. The exceptions are my fanny pack and some sort of headwear. On our honeymoon it was groom ears. This last trip it was a Stitch flop hat. I'm not sure what I'll come up with for our next trip. :)

On our last trip, DW and I had a little bit of time to kill on our way to our Victoria and Albert's dinner. So, we were walking around Main Street in suit and tie and nice blouse and skirt. I expected to get a lot of weird looks, but I didn't notice any.

I will not ever again wear croc flip flops. My feet killed me. I am not a tennis shoe wearer but this next trip I am wearing them. I try to look put together but I wear alot of skirts and normally dont at home.

At the pool I put a bikini on which I would never do at home.

For disney it is all about comfort, I have a whole separate wardrobe. Shoes and sandals are the same. For the flight down I where my normal cloths that would be approved by Clint and Stacey. I would have to hide my disney shirts and cargo shorts for the what not to where camera.:rotfl2:

i never wear my tink earrings at home... but i do at the parks

i don't wear my tshirts much if at all at home... but do wear my hoodies and long sleeve shirt.

i have my comfy days at wdw.. but then we have our photo op days which we wear something for good pix!!

also my mickey watch and my vera bradley mini hipster are reserved for wdw!!
