Don't take this wrong, I am not being judgemental. I don't really care what someone is wearing & I do understand that some people have arms that are worthy of showing off.

I have been seeing more women on TV wearing sleeveless than I remember in the past. I am talking about local anchors and show hosts. Often if there are 2 women, only one will be sleeveless while the other is in a suitjacket.

But I know I keep my house at 68 & a lot of workplaces are kept at that or even less & I would be really chilly if I wasn't wearing long sleeves. Heck I even wear turtlenecks & sometimes a sweater on top of them.

I feel cold just looking at them.

The only sleeveless thing I own are tank tops and I can't wear those to work. So I don't wear sleeveless in the winter but i do wear short sleeves at work in the winter.

I am always cold, so no way! I rarely wear them in summer unless I will be outside all day (like in WDW)!

The only time I wear "sleeveless" (which are actually men's athletic tee shirts) are to bed - year round - with shorts..

Short sleeves I wear year round as well.. I tend to be too warm all the time and my bedroom here at my DD's is the hottest room in the house.. Right now there is no heat on in here (my door is closed); the damper to the heat vent is closed; I have the cool-mist humidifier running; one window partially open and with it being in the high 30's outside, it's 79 degrees in my room.. I haven't had the heat on in this room one single time since I returned from the lake November 29th..

We've never been able to figure out why this room is the "sauna".. The entire room was gutted and renovated 2 summers ago - so there's new insulation, new windows, etc.. :confused3

I stopped wearing sleeveless tops out in public back when I was still a teen.. My arms are waaaay too skinny! They look like sticks..:rotfl:

Why yes, yes I do wear short sleeves/no sleeves in winter......

:rotfl:

Of course, in MA I assume you have to be having hot flashes in order to do that.

I notice our newscasters do that too. I've heard television studios are really warm, due to all the lighting...that's the only reason I can think of.

Yes.

I'm kind of weird though about anchors. I know studio lights are hot--but I wish anchors/reporters/hosts dressed for the weather commensurate with their shooting location. (I.e. I watched Regis and Kelly this morning and her outfit would be appropriate here, but I know it's cold and nippy in NYC.:confused3)

For a live show, I think they can suck it up for 30-90 minutes. It's not like it is a sauna.:confused3 (yes, btdt and have worked in television--though the most I was on was for a minute at a time.)

I'm a purist and don't like regular news shows dressing anything less than business like and sleeveless usually isn't business dress.

And off set, studios are typically pretty cold so that all the equipment doesn't fry up. (Often I'd be bundling up b/c it was frigid.)

I get really overheated so I tend to dress in layers. I try to wear short or no-sleeve under my sweaters so if I get hot I can strip down.

Having to dress "warmly" under camera lighting would be torture for me.

I don't wear sleeveless blouses. Of course, I am a man, and a full time Florida resident. I do, however, wear a strapless bra. But that's mainly because of how hot it is down here for most of the year.

Uhhhh, no, I'm currently at my desk in a long sleeved shirt and a sweatshirt, until about 1 I also had my scarf on, but when I ate my lunch I took it off so it didn't get dirty. It's too cold to wear sleeveless shirts right now. I do wear tank tops in the summer, and I do wear flip flops too but not in the winter.....brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I wear short sleeves 10 months out of the year here. Sleeveless not so much as in never. My upper arms are fat, my forearms are skinny.

Maybe we are seeing more sleeveless folks because Michelle Obama has made a statement with her fantastic arms. She was sleeveless on Barbara Walter's special last night.

I wear short sleeves to work every day.

I teach 1st grade & my classroom in incredibly hot. We had the windows open today and the HI temp. outside was only 40 degrees....but it was MUCH warmer in my room. The kids and I sweat in there just about every day.:teacher:

No way! I'm always cold even in the summer. Now that the temperature is in the teens, I wear a tshirt, covered by a sweater, covered by a cardigan. :lmao:

You could get those stick on petal things, so you could do away with the bra entirely. Strapless ones never stay up, kwim?;)

Sure, I wear them all winter long........under my turtleneck and sweater :lmao::lmao::lmao:

ever since the "hot flashes" began last year, i'm wearing t-shirts during the winter (here in NJ) and sleeveless the rest of the year....

it's all about the layering.

I live in NY but I wear short sleeves 12 months a year- can't stand long sleeved shirts!

I do wear camis at home, but the heat is always at around 70.
