Do you wear Hats

I hate wearing sunscreen.... so I prefer a hat as an alternative.

Baseball cap generally, but I also have a wide brim hat for extended periods outdoors.

I hate getting burned... especially for simple things like waiting for a bus.

Sometimes in the summer, mostly on Sunday's when I'm going to church. HOWEVER, this year's Disney trip we will be going in August for the first time and I'm scared to DEATH!!! I am going to buy a sun visor and a hat with built in sunscreen for my 10yr old daughter. My 17yr old is too cool to wear a hat, sunglasses or anything, so she'll be going with the eye squinting look. LOL

I wear a hat anytime I'll be in the sun, summer or winter. I've have a bout with melanoma cancer and several run ins with basil cell cancer. In fact for fathers day yesterday my wife gave me a sun blocking hat with a 360 degree brim and it also has a flap that can drop down to cover my neck. As you can see in my profile avatar picture I'm wearing my "dress up hat" and I'm in the shade. Baseball caps just cover the forehead and maybe the nose, not enough.
.

I have lots of furry hats that I wear during winter. I also wear a big floppy wide brimmed one when I'm at the beach because I have very fair skin. I can't do fedora's or messenger boy caps, though - unless my hair is straightened (rare) or pulled back...I have curly hair and those tight fitting caps make my hair look like a triangle, haha.

I have a tennis hat (light weigh ball cap style) that I wear when I'm at the pool. And I wear a helmet when biking. And I wear a toboggan when exercise-walking in the winter (under 55 degrees). Otherwise, no hats for me. I get hat head the minute I put on a hat.

I have more than a dozen baseball caps, but only a few are from baseball teams. The rest are hockey, football, or various places I've visited.

And yesterday DD gave me a "#1 Awesome Dad" cap for Father's Day.

I always wear one when out in the sun; at the beach, amusement parks, running errands in the summer, etc. I have a few fedoras for non-summer use.

Plus a few dorky hats for when it's snowing. Like this:

I don't like to wear hats, but I wear a baseball hat for utility purposes (keep the sun off my head and my face).

:sad2: Nope, they look ridiculous on me

Occassionally. I have a Real Deal Brazil tarp hat that I should wear more often. They are made from worn out tarps off trucks that operate in the rain forests. Every one is different and it gives jobs to locals. Woody Harrellson wore one in Zombieland.

My cousin and I love to try on hats. I tried on one hat that looked like one my mom wore in the 50's. It looked like an upside down flowerpot on me. Other hats looked just as ridiculous. We were laughing so hard, I thought they would throw us out. A lady who was watching us, forgot all about what she was doing and joined us in laughing at our fashions show for dorks.

I'm so glad that other people think they look silly in hats. We thought we were the only ones.

I love wearing hats. However with my shorter hair I don't like my hats at all.

I have so many knitted beanie style hats for winter that I could match nearly every outfit. I have a wide brim hat that is a little too dressy sometimes. Sunglasses aren't enough sometimes.

I sometimes wear a baseball cap to the beach or pool. Not as much to the pool since I sit under an umbrella. In Winter I have a hood on my coat and really cold days I wear my knitted pink hat.

wish my daughters would wear a hat in Summer and Winter like they did when they were little.

No. I wear baseball caps.

I don't think I look particularly good in hats... but I don't think I look particularly good sunburned either, so wearing a hat in the summer is the lesser of two evils. And I wear one in the winter because I don't want to freeze.
