I have to wash it everyday if I'm at home. My hair is so oily. It could stand to be washed twice a day. When I'm on vacation, the water is different so it could go every other day but I still wash it because I'd feel gross. We have a ton of lime (limestone) in our water and it is a lot harder to rinse clean.

I wash my hair Mon-Thurs everyday then usually don't wash it again until Sat. or Sunday. The weekends I don't usually try to impress anyone, but I give it time because I hear washing your hair everyday isn't the best thing in the world to do. So I try to give it a break over the weekends.

I wash my hair everyday. There's very little that will get me out of the house when I haven't washed my hair.

I do wash my hair every day, but I use a gentle cleanser, only wash once and use conditioner. I am now using Logic Salon Products and love the way my hair feels.

I like the way my hair feel amd smells when it washed daily. I do not use a lot of sylying products which will tend to dry out your hair more then a daily shampoo.

Never every day - it would strip it of the "good" oils, leaving it in a very unhealthy condition..

So I think I would have to say "other" - because how often I wash it depends on the weather; what kind of work I've been doing; if it's currently long or short; etc..:goodvibes

I wash my hair every other day, because it is highlighted and between the blow dryer, curling iron, and flat iron, it gets really dry.

I wash mine every 3 days; it's highlighted and I use the bumble/bumble sur spray-being a salt based spray it makes the roots thicker hair/has more texture; it actually looks better by day 2.

My hair is colored and highlighted. I wash every other day, and occassional the third day if happens on a weekend.

For those PP commenting about hair 'smelling' bad or looking bad...it doesn't. And my hair stylist has actually told me NOT to wash it every day when it is processed, be it perm or color.

It depends on the day. Right now I haven't washed my hair since Friday cause I haven't left the house. You would never know though. My hair doesn't get greasy until the 4th or 5th day of not washing it.

With weather like this and no humidity I tend to wash it everday, and straighten it as well.

In the summer if it is insanely humid or rainy, I wear it curly. I wash it every day then because I use product and it is gross if I don't wash it the next day.

I have very long & thick hair. However it is extremely healthy and shiny. I get compliements from people all the time and my hair dresser constantly talks about how healthy and nice my hair is.

I think it really depends on what you're doing or have been doing, and what type of hair you have.

I have very curly hair and after years of washing daily because it was oily etc.. I have now stopped. I use shampoo once or twice a week and the rest of the week just rinse and use a bit of conditioner. My hair is much not nearly as oily and much softer. On the days I do shampoo, I only use a little on the scalp . Even my hairdresser commented on how much better my hair is looking these days.

I'm african american and I cannot wash my hair daily. I do wash and style weekly though. It takes me 3 hours to dry and flat iron my hair so I'm glad to only have to do that weekly.:)
To be quite truthful here, If a woman didn't wash or shower including her hair each day I wouldn't want to be close to her.

You would certainly notice if you were close enough, it sure wouldn't smell nice and fresh :scared1:
Washing it once a week your head would stink for sure, you may not think it looks like you need to wash your hair but it would have an odor!

What a closed minded thing to say. Everyone is not the same.

every other day, if i'm expected in public...if i'm being lazy, i'll go for days. (why am i admitting this publicly? )

i also have very thick hair, and it's on the longish side, so i can definitely get away with it. the Hair God definitely blessed me! :thumbsup2

At the risk of sounding like a lunatic....:scared1: this is something I struggle with. I always wore my hair short and it was a quick wash - no conditioner, blowdry and done. And it looked great. Now I have let it grow out and it is crazy thick, curly and several inches past my shoulders. I love it. I feel more sexy than I have in years. Honestly, it does look better the second day if I don't wash it.... but years of daily washings...... well, it is just hard to get out of that mindset.

Anyway, I wash and condition it about every day and a half. If I wash it at night, then I won't wash it again until the second morning. Then I don't wash it again until the second night - it isn't really every other day - which would be 48 hours.... more like 36 hours.

Unless, of course, I work out - then it must be washed.

I wash my hair every day. I have very fine and oily hair and even if I were to wash it at night by the next morning I still need to wash it again because of sleeping on it. I am very envious of those that can go every other day or so. After a while though you just get used to it.

I have very oily skin and hair. I am one of those that has to wash their face at least twice a day and can't use a heavy moisturizer on it or I end up with acne. My scalp is the same way. I wash my hair daily with mild shampoos so that I don't end up looking like the bag lady that hasn't showered in a month...it gets greasy and stringy. I also can't use conditioner daily or it weighs it down and makes it greasy. I condition weekly or so.

The only good thing about the oily skin is that I have no sag and no wrinkles at all and look 10+ years younger than I am. Other than that, it's a PITA.;)

My Mom and I are complete opposites and I am so jealous. She has dark, thick hair and can go a few days w/o washing. It actually looks better as time goes on.

I have fine hair, was blonde as a kid and is now a mousy-brown color if I don't get it highlighted. If I don't wash everyday, it feels and looks oily!

Now my DD has fine blonde hair, but it is curly (loose curls)! I am still getting used to that and took the book Curly Girl out of the library which helped some. I am still having a heck of a time finding someone who is good at cutting curly hair. The top part still falls forward and hasn't started falling to the side yet, I have to keep bangs but I don't want them to cut the bangs too far back.

If I straighten my hair I wash it every other day because it's a pain to straighten every day, very time consuming and not so good for the hair. If I go curly, I wash every day. I usually straighten during the week and leave the curls on the weekend.

I shower daily, but wash my hair once a week using the Wen products. My hair is dry and would be brittle if I washed it more often. What I do, though, is everynight before I go to bed I blowdry and brush my hair on cool to get rid of any dust or whatever that blown into my fair during the day.

One thing, when I'm in Florida on vaca during the summer, I wash it daily but only with conditioner. This is because of sweating.

My hair doesn't smell bad, really! And it looks great.

My DH, on the other hand, must wash his hair daily. His hair is very oily.

:rotfl: I have A-A girlfriends and they also cannot wash their hair daily. It's a once a week thing for them, and I can guarantee from being in close contact with them every day that their hair doesn't stink. Not everyone has stinky oily heads!
