Since I can't stand yucky flip-flops, I throw mine in the washer with a load of clothes and then air dry them. When I mentioned this to a friend she was amazed, she had never heard of anyone doing this. :confused3 I thought everyone does this. Do You?

WOOOOWHOOO!!! I will now...thanks for the tip!!!

I've done it before but sometimes I just throw them out and get a new pair-- but only if they're cheap (like Old Navy's 2for$5 flipflops)

I've washed my reefs this way and it worked out well.

No, I've never even heard of washing them before this.

If mine get too yucky, then I just buy another pair...kind of like I do with sponges (I buy new ones every week...but that's a whole different thread :) ).
I usually have about 6 pairs of the "2 for $5.00" kind from Old Navy or somewhere.

This is the first time I've ever heard of anyone doing this...I tend to just dump them and buy new ones.

I usually scrub them with soap and water by hand. But, now that I know they'd survive the journey, they're getting tossed in the machine!

Tried cleaning DS's crocs in the washer last summer but they floated throughout the wash & really didn't get much cleaner than if I had hosed them off.

My DH has the kids line up their flip flops when he's pressure washing something. It takes him about 2 minutes and They end up looking brand new.

Now that's a great idea, I'll have to have DH try that. DD wear's hers to death, what would we do without Old Navy's flip flops!!

I throw them in with towels and wash in the washing machine. They don't always look clean, but I try!

I usually just make a sink of soapy water and swish them through rinse and air dry. I've even been known to wear them in the shower and wash them while I'm in there (at home or at hotel once when on vacation). I do the same with my crocs.

Although I have to admit I only clean them if they get sandy or muddy. General wear and tear I don't worry about cleaning. I've never had a pair of stinky flip flops:confused3 but I only wear them to the beach and to the pool as a general rule so they get wet alot.

Yes, my flip flops go into the washing machine along with my sneakers.

Never heard of washing them in the machine, but now that I know they'll survive, I'm gonna try it! :teeth:

I usually dump my Reef flip flops in the sink with some detergent. If I had my own washer I'd toss them in there.

I just throw out the cheapies when they get too dirty. I get little black toe prints on them if I wear them too much
