I'm just posting something I read here a couple years ago that we tried and it works.
Theres a store in MGM where you can get your children nametags SIMILIAR to those worn by cast members. Its on the main street in, on the right... dont know the name of the store... sorry. They are made on site with your child's name. I believe its the only place in all WDW that sells them. They are well worth the $6 you'll spend for one!!! The castmembers will walk up to your kids and talk to them by name!!! The kids (younger ones) are amazed that they "know them" by name. Especially good for autistic children who people often find it hard to talk to.
My son had one till last trip until he took his lanyard off in a restaurant and left it in the stall. We went back 5 minutes later (as soon as we realized) and someone had already stolen it. I guess they were after the pins on it, but they could have at least left the personalized tag.
Anyways... Its a great idea!!! Gets them extra attention. just dont leave them in a bathroom stall. :confused3

The Guest of Honor Badges are great, You can get them in Downtown Disney and the five and dime store I believe ( I am having a brain fart)

You can also order them online.

Ooh, ooh! Post a link to where I can buy one online? I read about them a few months ago and my DD LOVES to spell her name and see it in print! (She's two, little things thrill her...lol!)

I think at thelaughingplace.com

or something like that...maybe laughingplace.com

Name Tags for our DD when we are there. I think that she would love to talk to the CM's or whoever may come up to her to talk.

Very good idea!!!

BUT, make sure that your kids know the dangers of talking to strangers. Make sure you keep an "extra" watch on them if they have their name pinned to their shirt.

One of the main things police say to do to keep your kids safe is to not put their name on the outside of their clothing. A predator calls your child by their first name and "suddenly" they are no longer a stranger. The child figures that if they know my first name, they must know me!

Not being a downer, I promise!!! :cool1: I still like the idea but just make sure you use extra caution, thats all.

I'm sure everyone here keeps a close eye on their kids regardless of where they are so its probably a moot point to mention this but just in case. :thumbsup2

Just stand near me for 5 minutes and you probably will know th first, middle and last name of my kids! Frankly, for us, Disney is all about talking with strangers. WE have met many many wonderful people passing away the time in line for rides. My kids have been taught to trust their instincts about people they know or don't know. It may very well be a stranger they need to engage for their safety, or due to an accident to me and it could be a family friend that assaults them.

The pins are a joy! We did have the front of one come "unglued", however, so keep an eye out!

OP, I have a couple of older lanyards, if by chance your son might want one. I'm sorry his was stolen!

Even without GOB, people standing around will know your kids names in no time flat.

Thanks for the offer :teeth: , but we got a couple on ebay about 6 months ago. I actually have an extra myself, but my daughter will probably want it in a few years.
