Do you volunteer?

I volunteer on anything that's needed on my kids schools , PTO's and all that stuff but I also volunteer on the ESL program and Computer lab , I really like it and I hope that next year when my youngest goes to school all day I will be able to volunteer in the local hospital. I also volunteered in the past in the local ambulance squad.

I volunteer up to my kids schools. At DS, I am on the PTO, work in the classroom and I run the schools scrip program. At DD, I help out with fundraisers and will help with the bookfair next month. Not so much to do in middle school. I also fill in as a substitute teachers aide at DS school.

I enjoy being up to their schools. Plus, it gives me a chance to be part of their world and meet their friends more often.

I volunteer to do quite a bit with senior citizens, but I guess that is about it.

Oh me too, Preshi. :(

I haven't volunteered in about 3 years, although my last job seemed mostly volunteer after I got my paycheck! It's too bad since there are so many great opportunities with exotic wildlife here.

I hope to make some contacts at shelters and emergency clinics when I get settled in at the new job and start working 4 days a week. That will be several months though.

I do school, PTA, and church like others have mentioned. The only ones I do that haven't been mentioned are Home Owner's Association Treasurer (no one wants that job - yuck!) and working on the yearly Christmas "Festival of Trees" - a local hospital benefit. I've done ESL tutor for the literacy council in the past too.

The boys and I also go around the neighborhood and wash mailboxes on "Mailbox Beautification Day" LOL - we really have one of those!

First of all, congratulations to all of the people who volunteer where ever it may be. Lots of negative things are reported about people but there are many great people in the world who give of themselves.

I volunteer for alot of municipal, provincial and national civic events. For example Air Canada Cup National Midget Hockey championship, The Senior Mens National Baseball Championship, The BC Seniors Games, I have volunteered by producing and directing theatre productions in our community but now I have decided to only volunteer for fundraisers for my ds school by organizing some events.

I volunteer for my daughter brownie troop, I use to belong to the local ambulance squad for years before kids, now i just don't have time. Hopefully when the kids get older I can volunteer again on the local squad

I volunteer at my youngest DD's school. I work with children who are having trouble reading and help out in the library.

For 10 years I was always volunteeing for school, pre-school & Kindy. Now it is DH's turn, as he is now retired. He is volunteering at the boys high school.:D

I teach ESL to adults new to the U.S., I've volunteered too many hours to count for political campaigns:D , and I always help my DD's GS troop .

I volunteer a lot of my time for school activities (esp Band and Sports Boosters) and for our church.:D

I teach religous education to 10th graders this year and I volunteer at work.
