Do you visit any beaches when at WDW?

We are booked at a vacation home (thanks SherryG:woohoo: ), for a week Nov. 15, and are thinking of visiting a coastal beach, if it's warm enough. Has anyone else taken time out to go to the beach? Which ones are nice just for the day? Any experience with how warm the ocean is in Nov? Cocoa beach is one hour away, but the water may be too cold; Clearwater is almost 2 hours(I think), but may be warmer. Any advise?

Thanks,
Debbie

My husband likes Daytona (it's a car thing) and I like Clearwater. I found Clearwater to be spectacular and it was cool to be in the Gulf of Mexico.
Even if it's not super warm, just a walk on the beach is a dream come true for me in the winter.

We often stay in a condo in New Smyrna Beach (south of Daytona) and spend the day at Disney from there. It is a nice beach, especially on the south side where there is no driving on the beach (safer for the kids).

We went to Cocoa Beach when we were there in March. It was beautiful. we even went swimming. There were lots of people there and many in the water too.

We went to Cocoa Beach too. The water seemed a little cold on the toes at first, but it didn't take long to get in. Even DW got in and she's a big wimp when it comes to water temperature.

There were some decent waves and we had a blast. The water stays shallow for quite a way out.
