Do you use the Disney Visa card?

No. I get better rewards on almost every CC I have. I got it so I'd have the option of sales that are for card-members only, but I've never actually used it.

My go-to cards are an AmEx that gives me 6% back on groceries, a USAA AmEx that gives me 5% back on gas, and then just about everything else goes on our Citi Double Cash that gives us 2% back.

Yes, I do use the Disney card (the no fee one). Received $200 after my first charge (several years ago) and pay it off each month - no interest for me. I also have a no fee American Express that I rec. $200 for when opening a few years ago also - pay balance monthly also.

I don't have any cons, but would not be worth it if you carry a balance.

I've had the "regular" Disney card since the beginning of the program; in fact, my card says "Day One Member" or something like that right on the card. It has no annual fee and 1% rewards. I use it for everything and pay it off monthly, so I've never paid an interest charge. We go to Disney every other year (give or take), so by the time we go there's $700-$1000 built up on the card. I use the rewards for food purchases while at Disney, or maybe for park tickets. (I know.. UT tickets are cheaper, but sometimes not by much, and free is free!) When we went to WDW on a free dining promotion several years back, I had enough saved on the card to pay for the package! We have SW credit cards with rapid rewards bonuses built up for airfare, and I can usually find a pretty good deal on hotels through Orbitz and rental cars via memberships, codes, and coupons. I know that there are other cards that give more of a cash back reward, but I wouldn't do well with those. We live on a tight budget and if there's cash, it gets spent on bills. Savings account is for emergencies, and there's not a lot left over for anything else, so I like knowing that I have something socked away that can only be spent on a Disney vacation!

I've had my card since "Day One". It is my secondary card. I use it anywhere that doesn't take my Discover Card. Also at Disney store and WWoD for 10% off, once to book a deal early, sometimes to book packages with 6 months interest free (though now I book less and less diretly with Disney) and the free photo in EPCOT. Because of my limited use I usually only accumulate $100 between trips but that is $100 free and some other decent discounts.
Oh and we also have attended some "card members only" events at our Disney store. Those are always geared towards kids, so maybe not applicable.

Dh and I are looking at opening a Disney Visa card. But we want to hear from others what they like or dislike about the card. What you use it for?

We are a military family who is starting to enjoy more trips to Disney and Disney cruises. Just want to know if it would be a good fit for our family.

Thanks!
I have it and use it, but really there are just as good and often time better credit cards out there. It's a simple 1% reward back (unless there's specials that they have going on and you enroll in them, then it can be a little higher at times - I never enroll lol). It's not a bad card, but like I said you can find any credit card with the 1% reward back and often times there are cards that offer more. There are really no "perks" that we use, other than the occasional 10% off a purchase of over $50. They do have a character spot photo thing you can do at Epcot if you have the credit card, but in 7 trips since having the credit card we've never done it. - They used to offer free stroller rentals at Disneyland, which was nice and would have been even nicer at DW, but they stopped that a long time ago.

We use it for everything and pay off the balance bi-weekly. I know there are better cards with cashback deals out there, but I also know my DW and myself. We'd end up spending that cashback money on household stuff or things we'd probably regret later that we purchased. So we use our Disney Visa as sort of a "vacation savings" account so to speak. We only cash in our pts when we go to Disney (which has been every year lately) and we've gotten between $850-$1,000 off each time we've redeemed. So it's a nice chunk off our annual vacation. We also have the Premier Disney Visa. I've done the math and we usually cover the Annual Fee easily within the first month / month & a half.

I have one, but it hardly ever gets used. Like others have mentioned, there are others that have much better cash back/rewards. The only time I remember using it lately was with an advance booking promo thru Disney. Otherwise, it pretty much sits idle.

Other cards have passed it by reward wise, but occasionally there is a deal for using it at say the Disney store online. I think there was one a month or so ago for 25% off.

for those who have the amex blue preferred do you get 6% at super targets? that is where i grocery shop.. tia. i use my disney visa often i know its not the best cash back but its a great way to get disney trips paid for.

I've had the no-fee version for about 10 years, and got the Premiere with a $200 sign-on bonus when we were planning our 2014 trip. I have since cancelled the Premiere; I have other cards that give a better % back on groceries/gas/dining so the annual fee wasn't worth it to me. I also rarely use the no-fee version now, I just keep it for the in-park perks and discounts.

Curious as well. Just got this card a couple weeks ago. It will more than pay for the fee and I go to Target a lot.

We use it to pay our rent and for Disney trips. I'm trying to transition it for everyday purchases to up the points for travel.

We got it for one purpose and one purpose only, to help pay for our dues (we are DVC Member). It does help. When we signed on the first time, it was when they had an "incentive." Like a sign on bonus. We upgraded almost a year ago, but again, when they had an incentive to do so. I think it was $200 bonus.

We got one when it first came out. We use it only for gas purchases and car expenses. I like to keep those items separate from my everyday credit card that gets much better rewards. We have the no fee one. I know there are better cards for even those needs, but this way we can keep the card open for the occasional perks and we earn a couple rewards dollars for every trip.
