Do you use packing cubes?

Does anyone have the raspberry color? What do you think about the color?

I have them - DS calls them red (of course, I called them "red" when I showed them to him so we wouldn't mind some of his stuff packed in them); to me they look very dark pink/on the purple/burgandy side.

Now I also have some green ones for the guys.

LOVE them. No need to unpack in hotel, made our last trip where we changed hotels every night but one so much easier.

I have some of the ebags and Eagle Creek bags. Both are great. The only thing I will add is that I like to throw in an extra ebag (since they fold flat) so I can start putting dirty clothes in it the first day. Then as we empty another one, we start putting dirty clothes in it. It makes it easy on the last day bc the clothes are already packed to go home.

More Red

I just ordered a set of the raspberry packing cubes, but when I went back to look at them, I'm a little worried that they will be more pink than red. Does anyone have the raspberry color? What do you think about the color?

it depends - i pack "outfits" in them all together.

I saw the Eagle Creek on a recent trip. I have never seen these before but thought they were a little pricey. After stumbling upon this thread I've been looking at the ones from ebags.

I'm looking at the 3 piece set and I'm wondering what you pack in each size? How much does each hold? (ie the lg size holds xxx many shirts/pants ect.) Trying to get enough to be able to pack for a week-10 days. Also what size do you need for jeans or sweatshirts(winter clothes)?

Thanks! I can't wait to get some of these.

Hint.....If your going to purchase them from e-bags, purchase one set first because they'll send you an e-mail with a 20% off coupon towards a purchase. I ordered my 3 sets, one at a time and used the coupons for each set.

I just purchased a few sets this weekend....they are being offered at 25% off through tomorrow, 8/21/12. I did pay shipping. Found a code online that offered free shipping and 20% off, but was better off in the end with just the 25% off.

 Have to add, I am excited about the purchase! My road warrior dh has used the Eagle Creek cubes for years, but I've been happy with the 2 gal ziplock bags for the rest of the family. After reading reviews here and from others I think the cubes will be even better.

I just got mine today. I must say I'm very happy with the raspberry color. I thought it would be too pink looking, but it's a good color. My husband thought it looked more purple, but either way, it's not too girly. I also got the green.
I used to use the eagle packing envelopes and large zip lock bags. I think I can retire the ziplock bags now. :)
Looking forward to using these packing cubes!

BTW, I had looked for the 25%off that was mentioned above, but I never did find it. I got 20% and free shipping - and if you order the 3 piece w/ the slim set all together in a set it was even cheaper.
Happy traveling!

Mine came too and I love them!!! The purple was a little darker than I expected, the aqua was much prettier than I expected. We also bought the yellow and sage, both good colors, everything in the 6 pc set.

We leave in a week and already I am packing....theses things MAKE you want to pack! The small skinny cube (from the set of 3 identical) is perfect for swimsuit, cover-up and a pair of flip flops and/or goggles. Great for those pool visits on check-in or check-out days.

I did find out that the website is tricky. I was offered 25% off everything sale, but when I entered the code for 20% and free shipping, then realized it was more overall for my order, it wouldn't let me switch back until I cleared my cookies. Then, some color choices were missing but they showed up again the next day. My advice is to try clearing your cookies when shopping there and see what pops up again.

Love this thread! Thanks all!! :goodvibes

This is very timely, as DH had the "a-ha!" moment with the packing cubes this last week. I actually bought them for our last cruise in 2011, and at the time he thought they were nice, but not necessarily that much more superior than simply rolling the clothes himself and leaving them loose. I think what he was expecting was that they'd provide a lot of extra room, but didn't really think they compressed all that much. What he did like was the ability, as others said, of being able to quickly unpack and repack, as well as find things without digging through a suitcase. I much preferred them to our previous experiment with ziploc bags.

Fast forward to this last week on a long road trip with three different hotel stays. Now we're both REALLY in love with them. We were able to quickly pull out the cubes each time we got to a new hotel and store our massive suitcase out of the way. And all without the annoyance of a full repacking every other day. Just rezip, and back into the suitcase. SO FAST! Even better, we would simply pack our dirty clothes at the bottom of the suitcase, and lay the packing cubes on top. When you unpack again, just leave the dirty clothes in the suitcase. When repacking, the base of the packing cubes kept the clean off the dirty (I suppose, though, if you got really grimy one day, it might help to also pack a trash bag for sandwiching the already worn clothes). Such a cinch!

That being said, part of me is tempted to get several small cubes for future road trips. That way, we could pack a cube for each trip leg, and just leave our big suitcase in the car trunk. Just pull out the cubes we'll be using and carry them in in a small tote or duffle.

I use the cubes all the time! They won't help you get more in the suitcase, but it's so much better for organizing. I roll the clothes in them, and pack mine/his into our different colours (Grasshopper & Raspberry, which is is fact like a raspberry). Easy to put into the drawers, and if we travel between hotels, I shift stuff around when some cubes get empty. I have the S,M,L set + 3M in each colour, as well as the 3 slims in my colour for my undies, bikinis, ... I also use one for my carry-on things that I take out for the plane ride. I use the Medium ones the most.

I like the idea to have a different colour for the first or last night of the trip, which is often the case if we fly out not from our home airport. That's an excuse to buy some more... Maybe some for my sister & goddaughter as well?

Just returned home home after using packing cubes and folder. My DH commented on how his cloths smelled like the drawer (wood chemical melamine smell) he did not use the cubes. My cloths smelled great and did not take on smell of the wood. just another reason to consider thempopcorn::
