Do you use or avoid extra magic hours?

We use the a.m. EMH--park hop when crowds become unreasonable.
We avoid evening EMH parks. :sunny:

We used to use morning EMH's before we bought DVC and had AP's. Now we are much more prone to sleeping in  Well, those two things and also having a teenaged DD who sleeps in!

So now we take advantage of the evening EMH's much more often. Just works better with our schedules. So color me glad that they added evening EMH's!

It depends :) Sometimes we go for the early mornings and plan on leaving that park right after lunch. Other times we use a late morning arrival to avoid the opening crowds. That is usually not an EMH park. We have not used the extended evening hours.

If we use the Early morning EMH, we usually leave the park by noon....just spend the mornign there. On our upcoming trip, we will be using the late evening EMH....but we probably won't go into the parks until after dinner that night.

On MLK weekend we did the night EMH as did everyone else staying at WDW - it was so crowded and awful NEVER again.

We only go early. We did and evening ONCE at MGM never again. It was sooooo crowded. The lines were awful.

We do both morning and evening. I've found that the 1st hour is usually more crowded then the later times, but either way, it's oh so nice!!

really depends. In off season touring, we take advantage of the am and pm EMH to fit more time in our day.

Peak touring, we avoid em' like the plague.

We use the late hours... if we feel like it at the time.

We never do that early thing, as we don't usually get going untill noon. :smokin:

MG

In August we did night MGM, and it was very crowded. One plus was that there was an extra showing of Fantasmic. We were late going to what we thought was the last Fantasmic show, but the CM at the entrance noticed our wristbands and said there would be a show for Disney guests at 10. That made it very worthwhile. Our guests stayed after Fantasmic to ride R&R, but we were too tired.

That was our only experience.

Bobbi :)

Last trip we didn't use any of them. I've used mornings in the past to good effect - particularly at the MK. PMs we only took one trip when they were running - and our kids are too young for anything but PMs at AK....

(We did do MNSSHP last trip - which is sort of EMH with a price and added features - and the kids really didn't do too great.)

We use the EMH mostly. My experience is the same as one of the other forumsters. The first hour is still very busy but soon after that it quietens down and you land up with just about everything being walk on. The only exception we found was on Soarin' - but then that was a newly opened ride when we went in May 2005.

One of the reasons we have always opted to stay at Disney Resorts is the benefit of EMH and thats culminated in our buying into DVC. For us its an important and valuable benefit.

We avoid EMH like the plague! Our entire 'kamakazie' attitude has changed since becoming DVC members. I think if we had kids with us, we'd be more prone to spend more time in the parks and take advantage of that kind of stuff. Now we can sit on our balcony and watch the world go by.

Over the summer (July) we used EMH at night for the Magic Kingdom. The parks "closed" at 10, so we were at the MK until 1 am. Since it was sooooo hot, we would stay at the resort until late afternoon and arrive at MK between 4:30 pm and 6 pm. It was very nice because the heat of the day was gone. They reset the FP times at 10 pm so you can get FP during EMH. We definately liked this option and intend to use it again!

With this plan we could enjoy the resort and the parks!

We did one early morning (Epcot) and 2 late evenings (MK stayed open that night until midnight and it was wonderful; and we also stayed late at AK one night).

We only do Morning EMH at MK then outta there after lunch. We usually try to avoid parks that have EMH the rest of the time.

Since we bought in and we typically tour off season we avoid them. I guess we figure whatever we can't get to this time will be there the next trip. Our next trip will be sans DH so the kids and I can get a earlier start since he's the sleepy head of the the group.
