Do you use Disney Dollars?

My Dh and I had the idea to convert all of the little money my kids get from relatives troughout the year into DD for the trip. But I seem to have a thought of ppl complaining about them. Like a lot of places in the parks don't take them. I could be wrong, but I am just wondering if there are any exclusions in the park on them. TIA

I have no idea about the disney dollars, but what about taking their money and getting them a gift card so they can use it and then you dont have to worry about any type of money? They may like having their own "credit card"? I may try this for our next trip as we have a chore chart where our kids can earn their vacation money. I just used regular money but it was a pain keeping it separate.

Hope someone else knows about the disney dollars too. I am always looking for ways to keep my kids spending money separate from mine.

I just went yesterday to the Disney Store to stock up on disney Dollars for our trip this summer. The kids love getting them and have even left notes to the tooth fairy asking her to leave them instead of regular money. We used them in the park gift shops with no issues at all last year. I thought they were "legal tender" in all of WDW?

my girls alawys take a large assortment of cash and DD. I have never had a problem using the Disney Dollars ANYWHERE in the parks or hotels; I love them and so do my kids.

We could not use them for hair braiding and the tattoos. Otherwise, we were able to use them wherever we went. I don't convert all their money to DD because they may not use it all.

my girls love DD. Grandma gave them some for Valentines Day. They were so happy to have Minnie and Daisy money.

My kids are getting DDs for rewards and gifts from their aunt. She also sent them each a bank deposit bag decorated with stickers and their names to keep the DDs in. I like the idea of the DDs over the gift card personally.

We give DD as allowance and reward money, the kids love it. We've never had a problem using them but we always have cash on hand just in case.

We gave my older daughter about $20 in disney dollars for our last trip to see how it worked out. She just loved having her own money to spend on what she wanted!

I have never had a problem with Disney Dollars either. Last trip the kiddos had about 50.00 each and I had well over 100.00 in DDs. I even bought a Grey Goose slushie in France with DDs. The only place that we went that did not take them was the funnel cake stand in Epcot's America (but they didn't take gift cards or debit cards either). I had to go back and get cash from DH.

We get them for every trip and the kids love them! They each get a set amount for their own spending money for the trip.

I just got mine some Disney Dollars yesterday actually (along with some special little gifts to open every morning of our trip)

My kids are 2 and 4 and I think they will love having alittle money to buy themself something with everyday!

Dollar for Dollar or is it more like Carowinds/ Kings Dominion 80 cents per dollar (or 90 cents, I don't remember)... Thx for any info- I like this idea for my kids- (Means the money is still saved for the trip too...)

We also had no problems using them. I in i fact don't carry cash. DD had
Disney Dollars and I used travers checks.

DD loves her Disney Dollars. It was a good way for me to limit her spending.

They can also be used at any Disney store. We never had a problem
spending it all.

Yes, ask for them at the register and they are dollar for dollar. they have them in $1s, 5s, and 10s. Not sure about higher value as these are all we got. I need to go get some more DDs from 2009. My daughters think they are great. Last year they each had a $10 visa gift card and cash and it was a pain. This year they will have their DDs to spend.

We get them all the time! However, the last time we went to WDW, the gift shop outside ToT would not take them. We make sure to have some Disney Dollars and some cash for our kids.

This is the first year we are trying them. We bought some at the local Disney Store and will be giving them out for doing their chores and being good. They can then use the dollars they earned to buy what they want in WDW when we go

We used them for many years, but last year my boys didn't seem to care, so we stopped. It is a bit of a hassle unless you buy a whole lot before you arrive.

The boys really loved them for quite a few years. It was a real thrill for them. But they have outgrown it, I guess. Thank goodness they still love Disney...

Disney Dollars only come in $1, $5 and $10. They do not come any higher. The new disney dollars came out a couple of weeks ago and are really cute. They are regarding celebration.

DD always uses disney dollars. In fact, her countdown to christmas had disney dollars in every few days. She also gets them year round for other things. She normally goes down with disney dollars along with a disney gift card. This way she feels like a big girl paying for things. We never had any problems at all at the park or the hotels.

Can you only buy disney dollars at disney stores or can you buy them at the parks or where... ? It is our first time and I think that my 6, 3, and 2 will love em.
