What do you do with the cash you've saved for spending money in WDW? Do you leave it all in the bank and just use your debit/visa, do you bring all that cash, or do you do half/half? What do you think is best? Trying to avoid using credit. I always intend to pay the balance when the statements come, but something always suddenly comes up.

I generally only carry enough cash on vacation to cover tips (and I use $2.00 bills for porters, baggage hendlers, room service etc.) etc. I use my debit card, but be certain to keep a photo copy of the front and backs of all of your cards in a secure location, either at home with atrusted friend or family member, or I travel with mine hidden under the liner in my luggage, this way if you lose your cards you have the account number(front) and the 1800# (back) to call and report it lost immediately. Also, if you bank with a smaller institution, make sure you know what your card limits are, and make sure they know that you are going away, because they may notice your unusual spending and suspend your card.(as protection) just talk to your Branch Manager and he/she should be able to give you some good tips...
I have been in banking for 15 years, I have seen it and heard it all when it comes to people and thier Debit cards... :scared1:

We will be doing mostly cash. Our bank puts a $200 limit per day on debit card/ATM purchases/withdrawals and I don't want to try to keep up with that. If anything costs more than what I am comfortable carrying in cash, we will use a credit card that we are taking w/ no balance and pay it off when we get home. I also don't want to worry about my bank account being emptied while I'm gone because someone gets the number. (though the bank limit would make getting my card no fun.):rotfl:

I use my KTTW card and instead of putting a credit card attachment, I just use my debit card. This way, I only have to take one card with me anywhere and can keep the real card safely tucked away in our room safe.

We actually have a big jar that we save up all our loose change from the time we go on one trip, clear until the next trip. So, there is a lot of money in there by the time we cash it in. It's time to bring our jar in again on Monday!! I just deposit it all into my checking account... attach that to my KTTW- and we are ready to go!!

Cash. I bring cash with us and bring it to the parks to use. in fact I carry cash at home too. I really don't understand this whole fear of carrying cash (unless of course you are a person who is known to lose things)

On our last trip 2 years ago, I took the money we saved for the trip and put it on a Visa gift card. That way it was safe and we could use it just like a credit card. We could alos check the balance online each night to see where we stood. I hate carrying cash, and didn't want to use credit, so this was an ideal solution. I will be doing the same thing when we go again in a week.

We use our KTTW card and charge everything for the rewards. Once home we just pay off the credit card.:goodvibes

We charge everything to our KTTW card and pay it off when we get home. We do keep track of what we spend and how much we've saved, so we don't overspend. We take some cash, but not a lot.

We don't have a debit card, so we will be doing cash. DH is super.... carefull... so I don't have to worry about him losing it or anything. Plus we are staying off site in a house, so I don't have to worry about housekeeping.

I used to buy travelers checks at my bank but have been using my visa debit card as a credit card for purchases. I get $4 for every dollar I spend. Then I get to choose my rewards. Since it comes directly out of my checking account I always know what I have available and am able to check my balance over the cell phone. I also do not use my KTWC for purchases. I only take about $100.00 cash and our resort had a Chase ATM so I could use that without a fee.

This is the first year I've saved cash for spending. Usually just use the debit or credit card on KTTW. When we get home and DH looks at the statement online he starts talking about not realizing we spent that much and we need to start cutting back and on and on. So this year, I've saved over $1200 in cash that DH doesn't know about. I'm going to carry alittle to each park each day. DH will be happy when we get home and doesn't have to "re-live" each purchase we made. :rotfl:

I limit us to $100.00 a day, which includes one tip of approx. $20.00. We are going during free dining, so most of our food (aside from a few snacks) is already covered. I am saving my snack credits for F&W festival, so I am covered there. DH will save some of his snack credits also for this. Our debit card will be linked to our KTW card, with a copy of our debit card left at my office just in case it gets lost in the excitement. With my $100.00 limit, we will not go over our daily limit. I hope this works for us!

The money stays home. We take some cash but mostly use our CC. We put the CC on the room and use the KTTK card.
