Do you use bell services for split DVC stays to take your luggage from one resort to another?

We will only have a few bags. Wondering if it is more convenient than loading/unloading our car twice.

We always use them, give the bags first thing in morning, we then head to the parks for the day then turn up at our next resort all is waiting for us.

We've done it both ways. The advantage of doing it yourself is that your bags are there as soon as you are. :thumbsup2

Leaving it to bell services could result in you getting into a room, but having to wait for your bags so you can unpack and get settled. This wasn't a real problem in the past when you seldom got into your DVC unit before 4:00 anyway, but now with on-line check-in there's a good chance you'll be able to get into your unit early.

Was that any help? :confused3

Oh, please expound. We're doing SSR for 4 nights and then BLT for 4 in early November. I have a 2 1/2 year old who still naps, so I'd love to be in by 2:00. How can I maximize my chances of this?

We've been using online check-in for several trips now and have had very good luck getting into our DVC unit "early". This past trip we arrived at OKW about noon and our room was ready then. Mid-way through the trip, we moved over to BWV (using our car to transport luggage) but our room wasn't ready at the time we got there (11-ish). But it was ready about an hour later so we were able to head back to Boardwalk and get unpacked.

We used Bell Services to ship some of our belongings during our recent stay in which we had split stays. It worked out well and we will use the service in the future.

When we used the service, Bell Service forewarned us that the luggage may not arrive at the new resort until 1:00 - 3:00 PM. So even if your room is ready early in the morning, you may not get your luggage from the old resort until mid-afternoon.

We've done it both ways as well. I can't remember how it happened but several times Bell Services has driven us and our luggage over to our new resort. This way is perfect.

We've used Bell services in the past and it was very easy and efficient.

I would recommend online check in and then early in the morning on switch day, send one person over to the new resort to check in.

It all depends on whether there are actually any rooms available and ready, but if there are you should get one. Most people tend to arrive and checkin in the late morning or afternoon, so the earier the better.

Bell sevices is the way to go. We used them to take us and our bags from SSR To OKW,,,It was all good

:thumbsup2We used them one time to go from AKV to SSR. Everything went great. They came and got all of our luggage and when we checked into SSR, we went right to bell services and told them we had checked in and they brought the luggage right away.

Yep, this.

Sometimes you can get a room early, but never count on it. Plan your transfer day to be like a "homeless" day so you're not disappointed if it goes till after 4pm when you can get your room.

We used Bell Services this trip and they were great. Just say no to schlepping your own stuff!

I had my husband move our bags and we took a taxi, husband wasn't too pleased but I thought it was fine! I didn't want to take the risk of it taking bell services 8 hrs and us being without our stuff since we have two little ones.

We did until they lost some of our luggage in the transfer, it took them over night to locate it. :headache:

I do feel like it is a "homeless" day! It is our first split stay. We will do our best to plan accordingly so it goes as smooth as possible. I really appreciate everyone's input.

You can maximize your chances by not making any requests. If you do not request a location, your chances of getting a room that is ready is much greater.

This is the reason we don't do split stays anymore, that day of being homeless got to be too much for all of us.
