Do you turn off the "Sent from my iPhone" sig line

As for the typos caused by clumsy fingers and sloppy auto-correct, if you are sending a message to someone who matters via an iPhone, I think it best to take a second to proof read before hitting send.

Do not let a tag line message be an excuse.

I'm also surprised to hear how many think that using a mobile device is an excuse for spelling and grammar errors. When I'm sending e-mails for work, I always make sure they are professional, regardless of the device used.

I agree. I don't care if the e-mail is for work, family or friends. I still make sure I spell things correctly, use proper grammar, etc.

I do agree, though, that messages sent from my phone are typically short. If I have a lot to say, I'll wait until I'm at my computer and can type freely. But if a message requires a longer response, I'll say so in my reply.

I feel this way about all online communication. The English language has suffered enough. With that being said, I don't think anyone here (myself included) is encouraging someone to not proofread or fix errors because of a simple tag line. I think the sentiment is more related to less text or an occasional "auto-correct oops." Those can be easy to miss.

occasional "auto-correct oops."

They can be darn annoying. Sometimes I'm tempted to turn off the auto-correct feature but most of the time it is quite useful and time-saving. Those other times, though, it is a pain in the behind.

I can't tell you how many times my wife has texted, "I live you".
