I've never taken a shuttle before, and I'm not sure if you tip them like you would a cab driver, or not as if it were a bus. We've reserved 6 seats on a 7 seat shuttle, and so we're likely to be the only people on board.
Thanks!
Ooh good question. We always tip airport/hotel shuttles when they're dealing with our luggage. I don't know about hotel shuttles just to parks. My instinct would be no, but I'm not sure.
I agree.
Airport to hotel shuttles (such as Super Shuttle) I tip; I base the tip on how much luggage is being handled.
Hotel to park shuttles such as ART, or those provided by the hotel, I have never tipped.
Why does it matter if they handle your luggage or not in regards to tipping the airport shuttle? They are still driving the same distance.
For me it depends whether or not it is a shuttle with mutliple familys or just mine. Just mine then I woudl tip. Multipe families, I would lean towards not.
We took a shuttle bus from the airport to hotel, hotel to Universal Studios and back, and hotel to airport. We were not the only people on, there was about 30 others.
On the way from the airport to the Hotel it took over 2 hours, because he forgot about us. No tip!
On the Universal trip we did. The driver was so nice. He talked to us, pointed out sites along the way. He got off the bus, and helped us all down the steps and was very friendly. Hubby handed him $5 and he acted so happy! Like it was the only tip he got that day! Totally worth it, he was thrilled.
