Do you think you'll move again?

We have just bought a house from my parents (Dad was a builder and this was the house where I was born) It has so much closet space that I NEVER want to move.

I love my home and unless we win the lottery or make a lot more money, I can't see us moving till we need to go to a nursing home. (I hope that this never happens because I plan to have enough $$$ to pay someone to take care of us at home)

I keep telling DH, my next move will be to a pine box and then I am coming back to haunt the house. Can you tell I love the house?

Do you ever want to move again?

Yes & hopefully soon. But when I do, I would like it to be the last move...or hopefully next to last.

I lived at home in parents house for 22 yrs.
Then 2 apts with (now) DH within 6 yr timeframe.
Then our current condo for 14 yrs.

When I first moved here, I thought I'd stay here forever. Then, the guy next door moved in and I plan to get out of here as soon as humanly possible - hopefully within the next 2 years.

Many things around the house can change to make you want to leave. I LOVE my house. But, I realize that I can find another house I love in a place that will make me happier.

We had our home custom built and plan on styaing there until we die or can no longer manage it. We did a lot of thing to allow us to stay in it as long as possible, including having a single story and extra wide entry ways to a lot of the rooms.

After bouncing to/from college, my next move will be moving out of my mom's house. I'm a terribly anxious person, and I hate moving. So we'll see how it goes.

I think we will stay put until the kids are out of school, then we will downsize to something we don't have to work on so much.

We like our house but want to move closer to DSister. Her house is two miles away and much to far. So we have been looking at houses in her development. The last one skeeved me out, it was icky (cleanliness, holes in walls, etc.). We will keep looking and if we find one that doesn't need $100,000 worth of work and is way overpriced, we will move.

We moved 8 times in 7 years within the same town during the early part of our marriage. :scared1: So, when we got in this house in 2001, I said the next time we move, it'll be into our own home! We're in the process of buying our first house, but I know it won't be our last. I really don't want to live in this town for the rest of my life. I just want my kids to get through school here, and then after my parents pass, we're out of here!

Ducklite...GOod idea. If I was building I would do the same. Your house sounds nice and can you say LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION...;)

We built our home custom with the ability to handle wheelchairs in the future. DH and I will move again into a very nice upscale retirement community that you buy into. That is many years away.

Unless the extremely well paying dream job shows up near an excellent school district with outstanding autism resources and a comparable cost of living... No. We will be here at least until the baby birds fly the coop (minimum of 14 more years). Besides, we have already replace the furnace and ac, replaced the windows, paved the drives, tuckpointed the entire house, insulated the addition, refinished the floors, purchased wood blinds for all the windows, put up a privacy fence, planted our garden, etc., etc., I feel like we have invested in our quality of life here and I don't want to start over anywhere else. And I certainly don't want to step into the real estate market as a seller anytime soon!

No way in Hades.

Of course, DH and I just bought our house about a week and a half ago and are STILL moving in. I hate moving. :lmao:

Ask me again in a couple of years.

After we retire, yes. I want a milder climate and someplace less populated, but still within driving distance of my nieces and siblings.

We live in a wonderful, small village, lots of trees & pastures.
Our house is a big headache, 225 yr old former tavern and has all the (multiple!) problems a house of its age can have.
DH fell in love with it, but I did not, so yes, in 5 yrs or so we'll move.
Hopefully, that will be the last time!

I want a place with a large garden, mature trees, a barn & perhaps a little smaller--but still old & in the country! :rotfl:

Absolutely! We're in our starter home which is only 1100 square feet. We barely have room for ourselves...but with a baby on the way, things are REALLY looking tight. :crowded: <--- That's DH, me, and the baby!

We'd like to move by the time baby #2 comes, maybe in 2 or 3 years.

yes, we'll probably move again in a few years. when we moved here in 05 I thought I'd never move again, and then we tried to go to sleep. It's like living in a kennel. Our next door neighbor's dogs bark all day and all night and they live right under our bedroom window. Then we also have these kids a couple of doors down who won't move out of the road when you try to get out of the neighborhood, and then they act like they are going to throw their skateboards at our cars.

We'll probably move once more, at least. We're going to be 50 this year so we're probably going to stay in this house another 10 years or so, then possibly move to a smaller house in town.

Yes, we'll move. We're here for another 2 years until DS graduates from high school. Then we're moving closer to DH's job. Poor guy has been doing a long commute (for Colorado) for over 15 years and we want to make it much closer for him.

As we reach retirement age, I would like to split living between Colorado and someplace warm in the winter so we don't have to deal with snow!!

If I´m realistic, I think I will. I´ve never lived in the same place (or even the same country) for more than 6 years so I find it hard to imagine that I will live here for maybe 60 years. :rotfl2:

Oh no. No moving for us. Have only moved twice in my life(within a 2 mile radius) and know quite well that I don't like it! We built this house and the youngest will be out of HS in 4 years then I can fix it exactly the way I want it. I love my house!
