Am I alone in this?

Because we travel to Disney so often, I am asked trip planning questions all the time. Friends, family, co-workers and even strangers if the word "Disney" comes up, it always leads to planning questions. I have told so many people about Dreams Unlimited and the DIS, I could use some business cards for sure!

If I know the person, I send them an email with all the links about Dreams, wdwinfo site and the DIS boards. This email is a draft I use over and over!! An official email written by Dreams might be better though. Explaining what they do better than we can. Maybe a link off Dreams site that we can fill in to refer people to receive a Dreams email?

I actually have a packet of information that I print or email for people. It is full of tips, packing list, info on rides, etc. I have it broken down to a with kids version and adults only lol. I am a full A type personality!!

I just hate to see people plan a trip to Disney not knowing what they need to do to have the best experience. They pay too much, don't make dining reservations, spend time waiting in line for Stitch and miss the Buzz ride. It makes me sad when they go blind and come back hating Disney saying "Disney is a rip off, we couldn't eat anywhere and the lines are way too long"

Does anyone else think this referral thing is a good idea?

What's a business card? :rolleyes1

I think it would be much easier to let your friends scan a QRcode.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain . . . ;)

I have stacks of old business cards from folks. I have stopped taking them. I just "scan their code" or have them email me now. I am supposed to order new business cards at work because my titled changed, but I am hesitant to do that because I still have 1000 of the "old cards" that have my same info on them (other than title).

You only have a 1000 of your old business cards?

My old ones make great bookmarks, when, of course, I read a bound book.

Should we talk about the banker's box of old CD's I used to keep. We would get at least a dozen a month at work. I fantasized about throwing them, one by one, off of my building (the tallest in town) when I retired. I figured I could get at least 150 away before two guys with blue hands came and hauled me away.

Jack, that is just the cards I have had for the last 5 years. I have several thousand of older cards of mine. You have CD's and I have boxes of old floppies. I thought many times about tossing my floppies, but i just keep holding onto them. I am hesitant to get rid of them because there might be something I need on them.

Whenever I refer people to Dreams, I usually email them the website link. :)

OK looks like you all have some cleaning to do :rotfl2: :rotfl: I would offer to help but I have enough of that on my plate :lmao:

But back to the OP, myself I take the cards and once I enter it in my address book, file or toss it. Much like an appointment card from the DR's. I do not use a calander on my phone, yet I am up on technology. LOTS of people do not use data phones believe it not, and if they do, they don't use them to that extent.

The email thing is fine, except if this is a random person, I don't want to give them my address or get theirs. A card is a better way for that.

I guess because I am such a "pass along good info" type person, I don't mind doing these things for others.

Hey Lisa

I really appreciate your passion for wanting others to learn about Dreams Unlimited and passing along our information. It is really nice to hear that you are so enthusiastic about us!!!

Unfortunately I don't think we will be producing business cards to give people to distribute on our behalf. Other agencies might take this idea and run with it but it's not something I'm comfortable doing.

Feel free to share our URL with folks or the email address of your favorite agent.

Thanks again!!
John

Thanks for the insite on the business end John. That's why you are the genius :) I will keep doing as I have been. If they can't remember the name or site then maybe Dreams is better off anyway haaaa.
