Do you think WWOHP success will lead to other major franchise lands?

Do you think maybe a Star Wars land or a LotR land?

I know HP has a ton of fans but so does Star Wars and LotR, they could take a hint on how well it's worked for HP.

I don't think so. I think Disney will continue general-themed lands with multiple similar franchises included. I can see US/IOA expand WWHOP, but I don't see them trying to duplicate it with another franchised land.

The reason why I think not is due to the flexibility of having general-themed lands. Plus, your investments are heavily leveraged with a franchise, but then the franchise loses value. For instance, imagine if, all of a sudden, some weird scandal occurs surrounding Harry Potter and the franchise loses value quickly. Universal will have to re-theme the entire venue.

But say if, all of a sudden, something weird happens with Toy Story at WDW. They will have to redo the rides, but they will have minor adjustments to the park itself.

But if Disney really wanted to do something with Chronicles of Narnia and theme it correctly, they would have a world like "Mystical Land" or something. They can do some LOTR stuff, CON stuff, and even some other classics. But I don't see them trying to re-create Middle Earth.

I wouldn't mind seeing a LoTR or Star Wars type land. But not put out by Disney. I love Disney and go every year. But I just know they would have Mickey and the gang running around in said lands...I would prefer it to look authentic then seeing giant headed characters running around.

If Disney did do something like this, it would be more for grown-ups. The character interactions would be similar to EPCOT, where you can see characters, but in designated areas. You would have characters that will be representative of the theme.

But I will say this: Disney will provide a general theme; so if there is are Disney characters that matches the theme, those characters may be included. But it won't be a franchised land.

I guess I never thought about how Disney would do it because everything they do has been fine with me. I have a Mickey Mouse action figure in a Jedi robe and a lightsaber... I love it. Maybe they could expand the Star Tours section and add another ride and section of land... it'd be bigger than WWOHP at that point :lmao:

The only real true Land that Disney is working on, for a single franchise is CarsLand at DCA.

Having said that, they also have a Little Mermaid "land" at DisneySea in Tokyo, and "Lost River Delta" which is all Indy themed.

Unless I'm wrong, those are the only two real Lands themed to one specific franchise in all of the Disney parks.

It's be incredibly cool to have Middle Earth somewhere if it's done correctly. I don't think it'd get as much attention as WWOHP has though. LOTR has a ton of die hard fans (I'm one of them) but it's not really "hot/fresh" right now like Harry Potter is due to Deathly Hallows.

I think it'd be really awesome if they eventually expanded the wizarding world. It'd be super cool to have a Leaky Cauldron.

Isn't this what Jurassic Park is already? How has it been doing?

And so is Seuss Landing. And Marvel Super Hero Island themed to the Marvel brand (I guess it's not just one super hero, but still...it's based on one company). The only ones that aren't based on individual brands at IOA are Toon Lagoon and Lost Continent.

True, didn't think of that. I guess JP is too easy cause all you need there is a lot of tropical trees lol. I think Jurassic Park is cool, but it's missing the charm of a town like Hogsmead.

For Star Wars I'd likr to see Tatooine, more of Endor, and maybe the Death Star or something like that.

Middle Earth could be very well done, with Hobbiton, the Elven city, and the Mines of Moria.

I dunno, just some ideas and something to talk about :)

if Universal announced a year round horror section (stuff like the maze in california) i wouldn't be surprised (just very excited)
