Do you think we'll need a stroller?

Last year we rented a double stroller, DS was 5 and DD was 3.

This time DS is 6 and DD is 4, so I'm wondering if we'll need one for DD.

She just turned 4 in August, so that's a lot of walking - originally I thought we might not need one but now I'm reconsidering.

Any thoughts?

Do they still sell those red umbrella strollers in the park? I think they were $40 or something like that.

On our first visit as a family DD's were 11 & 6 (almost 7).

We went in August and the heat did the little one in. After several hours of carrying her on my shoulders the double stroller we rented for the rest of our stay was well worth it. It also carried our day packs and coolers.
I highly recommend it.

we just came back on the 13th. yes, we needed one every day for DD6. i suggest to not be without one. it's very handy, even for just power naps or tired legs.

We brought 2 umbrella strollers (Macs) so that they were light and compact to lug around. They were used every day for DD6 and DD4. We went in August too, so the heat was a factor as were the crowds in the parks. It was comforting to the girls (and us of course) to be sitting in the strollers as we pushed them in and out and around the mass of people. They didn't have to worry about getting lost. They still sell those black and red strollers in the stores:

DD4 had a couple of naps in them too in the late afternoons while we were out. We are going again next summer when they are 5 and 7....we will still be bringing at least one of the strollers with us!

Thanks shoppgirl, those are the ones! Since we'll be there for 12 days it's cheaper for us to buy one than rent. ;)

Just an odd question but why is it that small strollers in the states only have one safety lock? In canada we have 2? I can see only one on the disney umbrella strollers?

I'm going for 9 days with DD5 in a few weeks and I've been checking my stroller option. The same one that is sold in the parks is sold at Walmart for $39. Not a huge difference but if you have a car and are doing a grocery stop might be worth it! (Especially with our lousy exchange rate).

zellers sells a umbrella stroller for $30 that would fit a 4 year old and a 6 year old no problem. I broke our good peg plinko stroller last week and needed one quick. It doesn't look babyish and my DD's 3 and DS's 6's feet don't drag or look cramped which is the huge problem with umbrella strollers( we looked at quite a few). It's a deluxe avalon reclining stroller with bag and sunshade.

I would highly recommend that you either rent a double stroller through the length of stay program which I believe saves you a couple of dollars each day and any unused days are fully refundable with a receipt.

Or, you can purchase the single stroller for about $50 a piece and then bring them home or donate them to Give the Kids the World.

Make the kiddies comfy and they'll be happier.:yay:

My son will be 7 my daughter just 3 i too am debating..3 yr old yes was going to get cheap umbrella..Mys on is very small so im debating....

I ordered a P3 from www.albeebaby.com and had it shipped to the resort. I saved a lot of money (our dollar was much higher than now) doing it this way then just buying one up here.

The huge sunshade, reclining seat, extendable handles were great.

Absolutely! We loved having a stroller when our boys were 7, 7 and 4. We went in Jan/Feb when it was cooler and needed warmer things in AM. By noon we were roasting. The stroller was awesome for even a 7 yr old to rest in.

We took our 3 wheeler which had a spot for a tot to sit up front.

Two years ago, I went with my son 6 and daughter 4. I bought 2 walmart strollers for $15 each plus tax ... simply brought them with us. Strolled the kids up to the plane, where the checked them. Cheap and no issues ...
