Do you think this would be stupid???

We will be at the world in October, specifically the 19-26. My ds will turn 10 on Nov. 11 and my dd will turn 4 on November 8. Do you think it would be too early to do the cake thing at WDW since their birthdays are actually not for another week and a half to two weeks. I think it would be kind of cool, but I don't want it to be pointless since their birthdays are not actually happening during the time we are there. What do you all think?

I've never met any kid that wouldn't accept an early (and additional) birthday celebration. And people celebrate birthdays early or late down there all the time.

I don't think there is anything like celebrating a bday at Disney. Their bdays are so close to the time that you will be there, I would definitely celebrate while there!

My DD turned 4 in April, 3 weeks after our WDW trip. Because we knew the girls would all be at dance on the night of her birthday we opted to celebrate her bday at BBB (we also had a small celebration after dance and a party with grandparents the next weekend!). She had such a great time! I made a point of telling the Fairy Godmothers that her bday was still a few weeks away and they did not seem to mind at all! They gave her a Birthday Princess sash to wear and she wore it that night to the PPP. At Crystal Palace they set a birthday table for her and the waiter also did not mind that her birthday was still a few weeks off. The characters gave her a card and sang happy birthday. So fun!

We are going to WDW in June and staying at the Poly. My sister will turn 40 and my twin nieces will turn 3 in July, so we are celebrating their birthdays a month early. You're in the most magical and happiest place on earth -- absolutely celebrate early!!!! We plan on doing some very special things for their birthdays while we are there, but will also plan something when we get home and it's closer to their actual birthdays.

Birthday, anniversary, engagement, got a promotion, it's Tuesday, I got the laundry finished......

IMHO, you are definitely close enough to the "real day" to do the cake thing. No one will think you're being stupid - they'll be too busy being jealous.

why would it be any weirder than my boyfriend's 9 year old nephew celebrating his birthday two weeks before by having a sleep over with just friends, then the day of with his immediate family and grandparents, and then a week after by having an extended family party!

Its your birthday and you can choose to celebrate however you want!

Anytime is a good time for cake! Just go for it and make sure you get your birthday button from your hotel front desk or Guest Services and wear it the whole trip. Kids love all the attention and the special things that you can get.

Absolutely not! Last year we went to WDW Oct 16-21 and we celebrated our oldest two son's birthdays there. Their birthdays were late Sept. and early Oct., so 2 weeks and 3 weeks before the trip. We called it their birthday trip, and it was wonderful! They loved it!

My sister's big 4-0 is in June and we are celebrating in Sept at WDW and a 4 day cruise. In our family we always say if Disney gets 18 months to celebrate (if not more) then we get as much time as we want GET THE CAKE!

heck, Disney World celebrates its own birthday for years at a time.

I'm planning a trip with my mom and sisters next year (well...pre-planning would be a better word) and all three of them have birthdays within a few weeks of each other (Mom:May 26, Sister:May 21, Sister: June 10) Even if we don't go until the end of June I still plan on having a "birthday" dinner for each of them while we're there.
My birthday isn't until November...

We had thought of telling Guest Services that it was our son's 16th, but it's a couple of weeks after we're there. Do your prebooked tickets/hotel cards not tell them your real Birthday. We would feel real cheats if they caught us out!
So we'd thought we just tell them it was our first Disney visit and our wedding anniversary (nothing special though) while we're there, which it is.
Do different Parks/Resorts have diferent badges or are they all the same?
