Do you think this was inapproprate?

Just out of curiosity...

OP, would you mind doing a search on google for adult Tink costumes to show us which one it was. I was looking at some, and didn't see any that were too awfully revealing.
I did a Google Image search for "sexy tinkerbell costumes" and found this one. I wonder if it's similiar?? :confused3

I guess it wouldn't matter much to me. There's not alot people do that really upsets me anymore.

so maybe it was not the BEST chose, but it is halloween..thats what it is all about! why not enjoy :)

My kids elementary school actually sent home a reminder note that parents were NOT to come to school dressed in any costume whatsoever. When we chaperone for a field trip now a code of conduct letter must be signed by each parent going. It talks about dressing appropriately, not bringing alcohol or firearms etc. I was shocked when I first saw it, as we live in pretty nice area but I guess you never know. My 11 year old dd's teacher told me that one year a chaperone to six flags wore a bikini top and layed out in the sun the whole day!!!

I just have to laugh at what I'm picturing - a grown woman skipping around in stilletto heels wearing a skimpy Tink costume :lmao: . . . at an elementary school function :lmao: . . . outshining her own children :lmao: . . . flirting with the dads :lmao: . . . sprinkling the dads with pixie dust! :lmao: C'mon! This is funny stuff! :lmao:

I wonder why someone in charge didn't say anything to her. :confused3

While tink is drawn wearing a fairly skimpy costume, there is nothing sexual about her.
Seriously? She's quite possibly one of Disney's more sexier characters.

Anyway, I'd prefer to see a photo of the Mom before passing judgement on her.

My response was to another post that said they would take her aside and tell her she looked like a slut. I would never think of doing such a thing. If, however, someone felt it was their business to judge the look and behavior of this woman, I think it would make more sense to tell her in a nice way that she was drawing the wrong type of attention than the other way.

The point I was trying to make is that I think calling her names on a message board hardly serves a purpose.

It is obvious this is not the opinion of most, so I think I'll bow out of this one.

That was me, and my response was made with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

AT the kids halloween parade today, one of the class moms dressed with her daughters. One about 7 and a toddler. All three were dressed as Tinkerbell. Let me say, that no other parent was dressed and to my knowledge marched in the parade and I am a class mom myself. Ok, so the woman who has a killer body had on nude shimmering tights, clear acryllic high heels, a green sleeveless lowcut tink bodysuit and some wings. It was hot here today so nothing over it. The best we can sum up is that she was a slutty Tink. She marched the entire parade and sprinkled pixie dust and most of it went on the dads :lmao: :lmao: I kid you not. So anyway, part of me says kudos to her for having the confidence, and the otherpart is saying WTH was she thinking. It would have been a great costume for an adult party. Any opinions? YOu had to see all the mens eyes. WOWSA!

Maybe she was dressing for work? ;)

Wow this thread is still at it :confused3 Goes to show, you just never know with posting. Anyways, for the people interested in seeing pictures, sorry to disappoint but I was too busy photgraphing my little superman and princess. :goodvibes As far as googling for a pic, nah not going to happen, I really do not have the inclination nor the interest at this point, and besides the costume was not store bought.

I never meant to imply jealousy, malice or the like. I simply wanted to know if YOU thought it was appropriate. As my original post said, I was on the fence. I thought it was a great costume, but perhaps suited best for an adult party. To all that agree, great, to all that think I am a jealous wench, great too. And finally to all that think I should have approached her and nicely told her that she was not dressed properly, well I think you are out of your minds. But I mean that in the nicest way :goodvibes

Well, someone may have said something to her after the parade. Your description sounds hilarious! :lmao: The sprinkling of pixie dust has to be my fave. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I don't care how good anyone looks, that's irrelevant. The outfit was just inappropriate for a school setting. Children have a dress code, parents should lead by example.

So it's the size of the body parts that makes it sexual? :confused3

IMO you are kidding yourself. The lack of "costume" for the character of Tink speaks for itself no matter who is wearing it.
No that is not what I meant at all. Bigger body parts just need more fabric to cover them! What's wrong with covering yourself at an elementary school? I'm not sure how I am kidding myself. :confused3

:tink: Even though the mental picture is making me :lmao: , I don't think anyone should have said something to her except those in charge at the school. It sounds like it was inappropriate, but I sure would have been laughing. . . unless she sprinkled and flirted with my Dh! ;)

Inappropriate for a childrens event. The high heels and shimmer tights cross the line for a school event.

I would have cracked up if she had flirted with my dh! That would have made him turn 7 shades of red!!! He really really does not like women who are pathetically searching for attention!

I am all for dressing up and enjoying an event WITH your kids (I don't do it myself), but stealing their thunder is an entirely different thing. Sounds like the kind of mom who is going to be jealous of her girls when they are young perky teenagers and she is a sagging middle aged lady! Really it is more sad than anything.

Yeah, what you said AND the pixie dust sprinkling! :lmao:

She sounds better than stretch mark girl I saw at dd's parade yesterday..... sad thing was.. while talking to another mom she thought that it wasnt even a costume Bahahahahaha

Long black hair in pigtails... short short skirt. High black boots and a short shirt showing a pudge and stretch marks.

Now I am not thin at all and have my share of strech marks.. .. but cover up :rotfl2:

I will take slutty tink over stretch mom girl anyday. Sounds like tink had more on.

Did her abdomen look like Freddy Kruger's face? :scared:

Edited to add: What was her "costume" supposed to be?
