My kids will be 10 (ds) and 14 (dd). I'm making my ADR's tomorrow, and here's what I've got picked out. Do you think this is a good variety for our visit?

Mon: arrival day, no table service planned

Tues: Chef Mickey's (already booked for breakfast)

Wed: 50's Prime Time Cafe (dinner)

Thurs: Le Cellier (dinner)

Fri: Cinderella's Royal Table (already booked for breakfast)
Fri: Ohana or Whispering Canyon or Trails End (dinner)

Sat: Sci Fi Dine-in Theater (early dinner)

Sun: no table service planned

Mon: no table service planned

Yes you have a nice mix.

Many suggest Prime Time or Sci Fi, but not usually both. I have been to either so offer no first hand info, sorry.

I would probably book a TS on one of those other days rather than 2 on Friday, but maybe your plans don't allow that.

One other place you might consider for "cool points" is Coral Reef. Your kids will probably like the aquarium and underwater feel of the restaurant. It's in Epcot.

Menu wise you have a very American and meat and potatoes line up. If you want to add in some variety consider: Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge or Teppean Edo in Epcot.

May want to get some reviews on Sci-Fi for dinner vs lunch. We had dinner there and it was not worth it (bad food, eh service, long wait with ADR). Lunch reviews seem to be MUCH better than dinner and people rave about the burgers.

You have some good variety...I like that there aren't too many buffets either. I would consider adding an additional table service in Epcot (just because they are SOOO good!!)...We love Rose & Crown because it is classic, but different...the kids love ordering Bangers & Mash!...we also like biergarten, but the 'eating with strangers' idea doesn't always appeal to all. I love snapping the pictures of Dad dancing with Daughter at Biergarten.

Yes, we will not be able to do a TS on Sunday because we will be at Sea World and plan to be there until closing at 10pm. Monday we are leaving to head home :( and I don't want to spend any of our last few hours sitting down in a restaurant, ya know?

Meat and potatoes; my kids are soooo picky and need "normal" foods. I wish they would branch out a bit more, but I know they won't. I did consider Coral Reef, but ds and I eat ZERO seafood, so decided that would not work.

I appreciate the info about Sci-Fi Diner. We'll be at Hollywood Studios all day that day, so our main meal could easily be lunch. I will try for that as a first choice. Thanks for the tip!

50's and Sci Fi, although the food is similar (I believe) the theme will be totally different. Right? DD will like the 50's fun and DS will like the whole sci-fi theme. Trying to make two kids happy who are from two totally different worlds! :)

You can get this at Boma. Every buffet has a kids section and everyone can eat from any part of the buffet. So your kids can have pizza, mac & cheese, chicken tenders, basic veggies, salad, etc. at Boma and there will also be some more exotic (not too wild) African inspired dishes as well. One of the really unique things at Boma dinner is the soup pod, some really delicious, fresh unique soups available. Take a look at both the main menu and child menu to see if it would work for your family. Your kids might really like a visit to the Lodge, that's another reason I suggest you give it a look. The cultural aspects of the Lodge as well as the animal viewing on the savannahs is kind of cool.

You might also consider Beaches and Cream for a fun burger meal, no reservations required, you just have to wait for a table. Your kids might like the old soda fountain joint theme, emphasis on desserts there. :thumbsup2

Again, you could easily roll with what you have planned, just saw a couple of
"themes" and wanted to share.

Thank you so much for the advice. I would love to eat at Boma. It was on my list and even had an * by it, but it didn't make the rest of the family's list. They act as if this is their vacation too! :confused3 lol Another thing I wanted to consider is which park we will be at and try to avoid traveling to other locations just for a meal. If things go as I've (meticulously!) planned (ha!), we will only be going from a park to resort one time. I really hope the next time we make it to Disney I get a chance to eat at Boma!

Curious about Beaches and Cream; from reading other info, it seems to have that 50's type feel, like the 50's Prime Time. No? If so, I figure eating at 50's Prime Time would be better since we will be right at Hollywood Studios. Opinions from anyone who has done both places?

We got a seating at 3:55 pm (last lunch seating according to ADR CM) because of lunch/dinner reviews (and we are eating a buffet breakfast, so we probably won't need lunch but will be hungry by 4)

However, I also heard that you can get a burger at dinner if you ask, usually.

The best things are supposed to be the milkshakes and sundaes and you can get those at dinner. :thumbsup2

From what I understand B&C would be more of a substitute for Sci Fi as it is know for really good burgers and even better desserts. :goodvibes
