Do you think they will make us move

Here is my question..

We booked 8 nights with free dining Sept 17-25... well we found a flight out after work that gets us in at midnight the night before so when i called my TA she said there was no availability with the package... we did not want to switch resorts so I had her book us for the 1 night separately in a king room which is what we wanted the whole time but she could not book with the package...

Long story short.. do you think they will make us switch rooms after the first night? (I am expecting to but being hopeful)

Generally, they try to keep folks in the same room, even with a split reservation, as long as the two rooms are in the same class of accommodation. Since "king bed" is just a request, and not a guarantee, if you get it for the first night, you'll likely be allowed to stay there all week.

It depends. If your resort has a category for a king bed and you pay extra you may get it. If it is a resort where it is a request who knows.

It also depends on how full the resort is. We stayed in a standard view room at AKL our first night in late May then switched to our savanna view room the next day. The resort was very, very busy at this time.

I'm hoping for the same thing. Our package starts on the 2nd of September, but we will be actually checking in on the 31st of August. So we have 2 days there before it starts. Ours gets a little bit complicated b/c we requested to be near our friends that are checking in the 2nd.

Heres hoping that we both get a great room and stay put!

Good luck!

I'd say there may be a good chance you will have to move. If the King room was sold out then you will have to move to what you paid for. Maybe you will get some pixie dust.

Make sure AAA puts a note on BOTH reservations noting the other exists.

the kings were not sold out.. they would not let you book them with the package

do you think we would be better off staying at POP for the one night and moving then?

I would keep what you have for the first night....then the next AM when you go to the desk to do the check out/check in thing I would nicely tell them how much you love the room you are in and ask if there is any way you could just stay there for the rest of the week....the worst that can happen is they say, "No sorry, this is a king room and you have a standard booked" at which point you could offer to pay the difference to stay in the king.....I am betting if they have kings available they would at that point be happy to let you just pay the up charge of $10 OR 15/night and stay where you are. Obviously if the kings are sold out then you will have to move....but I am betting you will be OK....certainly worth a try.

The opposite has happened to us twice....we had booked a wing room at the CR for the night prior to a several night stay in the tower and both times when we checked in very late at night I told them we would be moving to the tower the next AM and both times without me even asking they just went ahead and put us in the tower the first night so we did not have to change rooms 6 or 8 hours after arriving. We really appreciated it a lot.

Of course there is always a safety net....if you do not like the room/location you are in the first night you can always move to a better location the next AM!!
