Do you think there will be long lines June 15th weekend for Carsland?

So how crazy do you think it will be that weekend and do you think it will just stay that busy for the whole summer due to Cars Land?:surfweb:

YES! I work for the School District and it seems everyone is heading South to Disneyland late June and July! In 12 years I have never run into a student at DL but I am willing to bet I run into at least a couple this summer in Disneyland/California Adventure!

Summer is always the busiest time at Disney, anytime in the summer. Kids are out of school and many family trips take place then.

Oh my yes.
Just like the One More Disney Day, the park will reach capacity
and admission closed by late afternoon or earlier.

Wait times will exceed Star Tours, and it will be difficult to move in Cars Land.
This will continue with long lines and huge crowds through the summer.

Will there be fastpasses for the rides in Cars Land?:surfweb:

Yes for Radiator Springs Racers. In the first days they will all likely be disributed within 60-90 minutes and as Summer progresses may still be available upto a few hours.

We are going to the resort for ONE DAY  (we already had a road trip planned so we just added an extra day on the begining to got to Carsland)

We plan to stay in Carsland only, and I think it will take us most of the day to wait through all the lines.

It's just a guess but we are prepping for a long day in the new land, waiting in lines. :headache:

We'll also be there for just one day, the Tuesday after it opens. I'm just hoping it alleviates some wait times in DL. Everyone will be in DCA!

Our strategy is to visit mid-July and stay longer than we normally do. We will be there for six nights, and will have six mornings in the park to try and enjoy all the new goodies. I am hoping that if we are there early each morning we will have time to see a little bit each day. Either way, we are expecting it to be crazy! :rolleyes1

I'm nervous about this as well. We went right after WOC opened in 2010 and did the dinning and it would have been great had we known where to stand but I was worried about it being nuts but THIS??? We only have 2 days 1 for DCA and 1 for DL. Since Tuesday is a grad night and dca MAY??? be closing early we will prob go to dl that day and DCA on that wed. I am figuring it is going to be nuts and I am REALLY hoping they let the hotel guests in early. We splurged for onsite rooms hoping that may happen. Either that or I am hoping they open earlier or have a MM or something. Guess we will have to wait and see. :)

I figure we will get there the minute it opens and run with the crowd to RRS and then do the other two along with the probable lines.

Luckily we are going back in Jan of 13 so hope that we have a better shot then but we will do what we can in June. :)

When Indiana Jones first opened in 1995 the line was 4 1/2 hours long stretching all the way back to Small World almost daily for the 1st few months. Just before park closing it lessened to about 45 minutes. Longest line I've ever seen. Back then there were no fast passes.

DLR has not had a major new ride since Tower of Terror in 2004 or Toy Story in 2008. I think Carsland will certainly draw huge crowds through the summer.

Did you mean to say DCA, not DLR? DLR had Nemo open to lines that rivaled Indiana Jones, and most recently the newly designed Star Tours also had multiple hour lines.

Definitely agree though that Carsland is going to mean big crowds for most of the summer. I'm in Arizona and they are advertising it heavily here so I can only imagine where else the ads are thick, lol.

We'll be there for grad night on June 21 and part of grad night this year is all day hoppers in addition to the "private" party in DLR from 11pm to 3am. Part of grad night tickets includes a Fast Pass....I'm just hoping that they work on the newly opened Carsland, because that's probably the only way I'll get on that ride. I don't do multi hour waits, lol. But just think...Toy Story may actually have a manageable line now since it won't be people's first destination!

Whoa... we were planning to be there June 21st. I didn't know it was a grad night. Is it insanely crowded for grad nights?

Normally I don't think grad night really affects crowds, it affect closing times, but this year for the first time, they are providing a single day hopper for the grads, plus entry to the private party from 11pm to 3am at DLR (not sure if DCA will be open in the evening for non-grads, calendar is not up yet).

Now...the big "if" is how many of those schools coming will be bringing their kids at rope drop, or whether they'll just be arriving after school time? I was amazed they had grad nights that late into June...I thought all public schools were out long before June 21 (Friday June 22 is the last grad night scheduled).

Our group are all homeschoolers....and we're bringing over 200 kids from Phoenix the day before, so we'll be at rope drop and probably most of those crazy kids will stay all the way through to 3am (me, I'll be taking a nap in the afternoon so this old chaperone can make it from 11pm until 3am, lol).

Since this is the first year that the grads get to have a full day AND the night (though it's much shorter night then normal, usually it's all night ending around dawn)....I don't know that anyone will really know how much impact the grads will have on the daytime crowds. I can only tell you there will be our 200 running around crazy! The grad nights start in early May so you might want to ask then how people saw the affect of the grads showing up during the day.

I have tried to find estimated numbers of grads for the private party and as usual that seems to be as elusive as the numbers for the other "special ticket events". But I think it fair to say that by late afternoon most of those kids will be there or dern close to getting there. The private party is only 4 hours, so if it were my school I'd want to get there earlier to have some true time for rides. With that in mind, I'll also guess that DCA will be the more crowded in that late afternoon if the kids think it through....since their time at DCA will end when the private party starts, we plan to hit DCA more during the day because we'll have 4 hours of private party time in DLR. Not sure, of course, that the grads from other schools will think that through, lol. Me...I overthink it all to plan to squeeze every minute out of it, lol.

Disney has stated the reason you are getting your 2 Fast Passes as part of the event is to see Cars Land in 2013, so I'd assume they will be good for RSR once it's open this Summer.

You may look in the June thread, I listed grad nite information in the second post of it. Grad Nites are different this year, so pay attention in the second week of May to see how they work out, but I would't expect insane crowds.

How bad do you think it will be the week after? We will be there from June 19 to the 22.

I'd expect it to be busy, for better and worse on the 21st and 22nd the second largest group of APs will be blocked, but the Grads coming for thier parties may make up for that. Almost every school will be out by then and famalies will start showing up for thier Summer trips.

No, I meant DLR. Had not heard that Nemo lines got as long as Indiana for an extended time but I also hadn't considered Nemo subs to be an E-Ticket type ride. Nemo has somewhat long waits now because of low ride capacity and slow loading/unloading. Star Tours isn't a new attraction, just revamped. It had long lines but those died down rather quickly. Last weekend they peaked at 35 minutes but was usually much lower.

Carsland Racers is the 1st major ride in quite a few years for either park. The entire new land will have a huge gotta see factor that I think will last several months, then peak again over the holidays at the end of the year. Whats unknown is if it will pull crowds away from other areas or add crowds overall.

Oh yes, it will certainly be crazy. June is always busy anyway, but in addition to Cars Land opening, Buena Vista Street also has its official opening on the same day, as well as the revamped Matterhorn.

I didn't realize it was an after hours private event. We did that in October for MNSSHP at WDW. It was amazing. We walked on every ride with no wait!

I went to the grad night website and it looks like the last one is June 22nd. We may change our day from Tuesday to Thursday.
