Do you think that they will open up more rooms?

I was able to book free dining this morning and I am sure glad that I did. But, I am really not to happy with what resort we will be staying at.

I am curious to know if Disney will open up anymore rooms at the resorts being that it seems that they are all booked up.

Anyone with some inside info?

This is a good question. I'm actually surprised they didn't open up more rooms for today's general public offering. I booked on Monday as a Disney Visa holder, but I truly thought WDW would have separate rooms alloted for the general public offering.

It's possible, in the next month or so, people will cancel and Disney will offer up more rooms. Time will tell.

the best time to check is when all the super-hopeful people have to leave their deposit... so two weeks from last monday, two weeks from today and even a few days thereafter... reservations will cancel when deposits don't get made...

I wouldn't worry about it. You're going to WDW, you're getting free food, you'll have a fantastic time! You won't even notice that you're not staying at your first choice resort because you'll be too busy having fun at the parks. Enjoy your trip, i'm super jealous!

It is certainly possible, or other guests could cancel something they have on courtesy hold. Definitely keep checking!

I'm very disappointed that there are NO Values at all available for 8/26-9/3 . I was following along on the DIS with everyone who was rushing to book, but I honestly didn't think it would be necessary. I remember calling last year near the late June deadline and there were still values available for Free Dining. I guess there are just less due to all factors involved (shorter time offered, bounceback, UK, etc) . We are still undecided, but I thought I had time to mull it over. No values on the website, and none through Dreams Unlimited. I'm wondering about what a PP said about two weeks from now - are you saying that people have two weeks before they have to pay their $200 deposit? I thought that you had to pay it the day you made the reservation? If there was a grace period and I missed it :headache: ... I was hoping to make the ressie in a couple of weeks if we decided to go. Oh well, it looks like I'll either have to give up on FDDP or come up with the extra cash for a mod. At any rate, congrats to everyone who is definitely going:wizard: - I'm jealous, but I wish you all great weather, low crowds, yummy meals and magical days :)

I was thinking the same thing. But, correct me if I am wrong but isn't the courtesy hold for 10 days rather than 14.

Just wondering (it does not apply to me, we are going outside of the FD dates) but on a local radio station they have a AAA travel show every saturday afternoon. They announced last week that they were annoucing a new big Disney special that was very popular in the last few years this coming Saturday. Well, I knew they were talking about FD, but why would they make a big deal out of it if there were no rooms left? People have posted that AAA has there own block of rooms to book. I wonder if people who could not get what they wanted, could possibly through AAA? Just a thought, I really have no idea if they have their own block or not.

Some people will hear that and start thinking about a Disney vacation. The promo will "sell" them on it and get them in the office, and then they're more likely to book something even if they can't get the promo. Bait and switch, though probably unintentional.

I don't think AAA has any more access to rooms than a regular TA - since it's a Disney offer, not an AAA offer. I would think they're booking with the same code.

didn't know what she was talking about. TA called yesterday and was told that to get free dining at AKL you had to book a pool view room. I called today and was able to get free dining on a savannah view room. I just figured they opened up more rooms for the general public promo.

I would keep trying to get what you originally wanted...pixiedust:

It is inevitable that people dreaming of a Disney trip, jumped to book with free dining and will never make the deposit. This will open up more space.

We had our ressies for months at full rack rates (sadly,no discounts for us) and we were going regardless of FD. (but happy to have gotten it)

I hope you get what you want, but if not enjoy your trip!:goodvibes

With they open up more rooms? I, personally, don't think so...but I don't have a "source" or anything, so don't hold me to that. But they've already booked free dining for others before we were offered it (bounceback people, UK residents) so it would seem odd if they gave the offer to us and then opened up even more rooms for it. But, stranger things have happened.

However, I'm sure there will be cancellations. You have until June 24th to keep calling back to see if people have backed out of their reservations (or have modified their ressies to a different resort).

Courtesy hold is for 14 days. I had a courtesy hold back in February, which is why I know.

Anyone who booked with the Disney Visa had to put the deposit on the card when they made those reservations so don't know where that fits in your ideas here. I would say that there may be some who don't make the deposit but even those who do may cancel up to 45 days prior to going so there is a whole long time spectrum ahead when rooms may or may not open up. I would say keep trying until the cut off date for making reservations.

The CM I talked to yesterday said even if people do end up cancelling that doesn't necessarily mean those rooms cancelled will go back to a free dining room. He said a lot of times those rooms just go back to regular rooms without a discount. Who knows? I was told by 2 different CMs that more rooms would open to the public on Thursday and another said no way would that happen.:confused3 I don't think anyone really knows the answer.

I bet it was that your CM was wrong. For days the only thing that has been available at AKL was savannah view. I was never told pool view rooms were available. Are you happy about getting the AKL? This will be our first visit there and I'm kind of nervous.

Savannah view. I was starting to get a bit upset when I heard I had to change to a pool view room to qualify for free dining. Luckily that turned out not to be the case. This will be our first visit as well.
