Do you think I will have any luck booking a trip in December? Our home resort is BLT and would like to stay there. I am going to try and call tomorrow to see what is available. We just added on more points!!!!!!!! and now I want to go at Christmas time!! Is it possible with only a few months left?

DVC popular times are often different than Disney Cash guest popular times. December is generally the busiest DVC month and is usually booked by owners at 11 months. (cheap points, beautiful Christmas decor, not too hot weather..) , Christmas-NYE week is even worse.

I would guess you have a low chance of getting any DVC, and even lower chance of getting BLT tomorrow.

I would not loose all hope, just do not get too set on one specific location or room type..., I would suggest getting on a waitlist for BLT, since BLT is still being actively sold, as more BLT units are declared, more availability will open up for points...

You can still get some Christmas (MVMCP is running so MK is 100% and resort decorations usually go up that week) as early as the week before Thanksgiving week. I've found the week before Thanksgiving week to be a slight "lull" between F&W and Christmas...

I would expect that BLT will get minimal Christmas decorations since it's a DVC resort. The other possibility is that DVD will do extra since they are actively selling the property and they have Guides there. While sitting in the lobby the other day I noticed that they have a Mousekeeper assigned to clean the areas where the Guides take the public on tour. That's all she cleaned, no rooms, just the common areas.

When you call, my advice would be to take any villa they have (if they have any at all) that meets your needs, regardless of what resort it is. That way you'll have something and can then waitlist for what you really want.

Good Luck!

Agree with previous post that it's going to be very tough to get a room (better chance if it's a larger room), and almost impossible to get BLT.

timeshares usually work a lot better if you can plan closer to a year in advance.

Thanks for the responses. No luck with BLT - I knew that would be a total long shot - no AKL - No WL - there was limited rooms at SSR, but we just got back from a stay there, maybe I'll bank the points and call at my 11 month window for next year. :sad2: I really wanted to go this year, but my husband wants to stay at BLT :sad2:

I would book SSR and waitlist. Perhaps there are more rooms coming into the system. Of course, there's no guarantee, but I know that I wouldn't give up a Christmastime trip just because my preferrred resort wasn't available. We love going to WDW and experiencing the Christmas spirit there.
