We are trying the QDP on our trip but I do want to take the boys to the T-Rex Cafe. Do I really need an ADR? We will probably just go for lunch one day and would rather not have to plan it out if I don't have to.

well if you do an early lunch (like 11 or 11:15) you'd prob be fine, but i'd do a ressie if i were u. Also, if you think you might wanna go at like 1 and end up there at 12:15 or 12:30, you'll prob get seated not too long after cuz you're early and not late.
However- u cant make those ressies thru disney as their not a disney restaurant. u have to call the restaurant directly.

I haven't been to T-Rex yet but if it's anything like the Rainforest Cafes I've been to, you'll want to either go at an off time or get a reservation. Can't hurt to make a reservation ;D

The restaurant is huge. If you go to lunch when they open you will be fine. It takes a long time for the retaurant to fill up due to it's size. Now that it has been open a while it is not as busy. When we were there in November it filled up quickly after we got a table around 11:00am, though in January there were still plenty of empty tables when we left at 12:30pm.
