Do you think Hoop-dee-doo is worth two TS credits?

So we just booked regular Free Dining for Sept, for a 8 night stay. :thumbsup2

We wanted this trip to be different than the last two years, so we've decided to do Sea World for two days. So those day we probably won't use a TS credit and we can combine them other days for signature meals of some type.

So Hoop-dee-doo is one option and I would like your feedback if you think it is worth two TS credits. I know with FD you get put in category 3, which doesn't bother me all that much, but just wanted to get your thoughts in general.

The other banked TS meal will probably be combined for a signature meal at Cinderella's Royal Table since we've never been there. I'm fairly certain we'll do this one, and would like your thoughts that that as well. (lunch or dinner?)

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I do. I love the entertainment, and it has been a Disney World tradition for my family for over 30 years. The food is fried chicken and ribs. It is good. It's also a good value in my opinion. You receive all-you-can-eat food and beverages (including beer and wine) and, to me, what is especially nice is that the tip is included.

I absolutely adore the show and that is truly what makes it a value for me and worth the two table service credits.

I say at least try it once. You will always wonder if you don't.

Edited to add: We love Cinderella's Royal Table, as well. I believe the experience is very similar at lunch and dinner. A late lunch usually fits with our touring plan best, because we go in the summer, and it is nice to have a break from the heat. I think any time would be good, though.

The tip is included at Cinderella's Royal Table, too, which makes it easier for me to part with the two table service credits.

We did the Hoop Dee Doo Review and CRT for the first time last year and loved them both. I think they are definitely worth 2 credits. We are planning to do both when we return next year.

My DH thinks it is a must do every trip:lmao: Food is good,my kids actually eat:thumbsup2 Sangria is bottomless and has quite a punch. It also includes tip. Show is entertaining so it is always worth it to us.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It is a must do for us, although, I thought the food has dropped a notch in quality this last trip (Nov 2011)

I'll break rank with the other posters so far and say CRT is NOT worth an extra credit. GO TO Artiste Point or Citricos. I would rather go to those and pay out of pocket than CRT even if it was totally free. IMO :thumbsup2

I have booked for 6th September, I called on Wednesday and have a confirmation number, the CM I spoke to said the dates for August and September have now been put in the system :dance3:

Love the Hoop-Dee-Doo. We went one time using 2 credits and another time saving the credits for 2 other TS. 2 TS could add up to more then the cost of the Hoop-Dee-Doo so if you have the time to do 2 more TS check the prices and compare. But the Hoop-Dee-Doo is worth it either way for us, we have been there 5 time and even thought its the same show we enjoyed it.:cool1::hippie:

Hoop-de-Doo is a GREAT show and definitely worth the 2 TS credits, IMHO. DD loved that show, sang the songs for about a month, and still talks about how much fun it was. For a dinner and a show, plus free booze and the tip included, it was a fun evening. (Edited to mention that when we did Hoop-De-Do, we were on the deluxe dining plan so we had TS credits to burn, so it was a great use of those dining credits).

But, having said, I've read in a few places that it will be shut-down from early August into the fall months. A few posters had commented that they had gotten ADRs for it, but then others said that CMs said the venue would be closed, it was an error in the system that allowed bookings to be made, and the ADRs would be cancelled and people who made reservations would be called.

So, check it out first to make sure!

We did it and enjoyed it for the 2 TS. Next time, though, I think I would pay OOP for it. When I sat down and figured it out, it isn't equal ($wise) in value to 2 TS. It was our first time seeing the show and it we really enjoyed it and will go again some day :)

It's a must do for my family ever trip. Even if we are in the area visiting family and not going to Disney, we will go have dinner and pay OOP.

Definitely! The show is interactive, fun and will have the whole family joining in (doesn't hurt that the sangria, beer, wine is included;)) The food isn't fabulous, but it is tasty and very kid-friendly. We have done both CRT and Asherkus. IMO, Asherkus gives more interaction with the princesses and is a much better value since you only have to use 1 TS credit. It's also easier to get in when you want it!

Thanks for the replies everyone. Definately seems like a winner.

Yeah, we've done Akerhus the last two years and it is a good value for 1 TS credit, but we're moving on to other places this year. It is a great suggestion, but we want to try something new...

I just wish they would say for sure or not if HDD is open or down for refurb during our stay (late Sept). It's looking like it's going to be down for refub at this point :( :( ...even though some folks have been able to make reservations for Aug. I'm not holding my breath though... will have to wait and see.

I am wondering the same thing myself. For me a family of 5 would cost about $300.00. I am still going, I was trying to figure out if it would be better to use the credits or pay of of pocket. Years ago you were able to get a discount if you used your Disney Visa card to book, I am not sure if the discount still applies. It was a wonderful show and I won't miss it. As far as the seating goes we were on the main floor very close to the stage and this time I opted for balcony seats. I was kind of picked and sung to, fun but I am not a person that likes alot of attention.:goodvibes I figure I can hide in the balcony.
