Do you think free dining will be offered oct 15-22?

Highly unlikely. While we don't even know if free dining will be offered at all, we do know that that week (and the week prior) has been blacked out of free dining for years.

Because that is peak time for school Fall breaks. People will book without them offering a discount. We went Oct 14-23, 2011 and paid rack rate for everything (room, tix and QSDP). Last year's FD dates were Oct 1-4 and 19-31. 2011's dates were similar. We are hoping our arrival date is late enough to get some type of deal. We arrive on Oct. 18.

No, I doubt it. Going by historical free dining dates from previous years I would say if they offer free dining for October dates this year it will likely include October 1 - 6 and October 20 - 31, give or take a day.

Your check in date must fall within the free dining promo dates. But if the October FD offer this year begins on October 20, then no, your vacation dates would not be covered. I think the late October free dining dates will start on the 20th, possibly the 19th.

FD goes solely by your check-in date. If you check in on a covered date, you get FD for up to 14 nights. Historically, the bounceback offers for the end of October have started on the Sunday of that last full week (this year the 20th), but the public offers have started on the Friday before (this year the 18th). No telling if we will see free dining this year or not, but whatever the discount, I hope it is offered starting on the 18th. We will be there Oct. 18-26, so I am hoping the timing stays the same as years past.

If the free dining does not start until the 20th and you plan to arrive on the 18th book the first 2 days, then your last 6 with free dining.

I will be there as well with my family, but from the 17th-27th. I was hoping for free dining, but now I am hoping for 30% off Deluxe resorts in case the FD doesn't start until the 18th.
Too much of a hassle to do a RO for one night, and then do the package.

The weather is very nice mid eighties during the day 70's at night. Crowds are typically lower too. It is a win-win
