Do you think food and drinks will be different at HS?

I’ve read all the menus for DL SWGE, and I noticed that alcoholic beverages are available at the lounge, but not at the CS places. Is that a DL thing? I assume things will be changed in the next 6 months, but with alcohol included on the DP at Disney World, I was hoping that I could get one of the specialty drinks with my CS credit at Docking Bay 7.

That’s how’s it’s going to be as far as I know. They don’t want people walking the land with alcohol. They want that part contained to the cantina.

I can understand that but they could still offer it at the CS locations but not permit them to leave with it, like BOG.

It’s not going to break the bank but it just annoys me that I have to spend an extra $10-15 to try the adult cocktails when I’m buying lunch on the DP elsewhere.

They could at Docking Bay 7 maybe but Ronto Roasters is very open and more of a grab and go.

Does this mean they won't let you carry a drink into the land?

The last I saw, there will be no differences between the two parks and the availability of the drinks. We will see if they want to cover up the terrible taste of the blue and green milk with alcohol (which is the only way you will ever get me to drink either of those again)...

that is actually an interesting though - with it not having actual dairy in it, it might be a good fit for some alcohol

I could also see things like Docking Bay 7 offering beer/wine ... but otherwise I expect food and drinks to be very similar

Right now, I don't believe any DP credits will be useable at SWGE CS locations. I'm sure that will change eventually, but at least in the beginning your DP credits will only be good outside of SWGE and any in-land food will be OOP.

Im pretty sure here at DHS you'll be able to carry your alcoholic drink around since it is not a dry park.
At DL it's different because it is a dry park and that's why you have to finish your drink inside the cantina

Maybe Batuu has blue laws?

I've been discussing this with my husband as well. I've walked around HS with an alcoholic slushie from Joffrey's so I can't imagine why they wouldn't offer beer and wine at DB7. However, I think it's an opportunity to alleviate some of those crowds in the cantina as well and let guests take drinks in and out depending on the glass they serve it in. Also, I'm curious to see if they change any menu items or substitute it for something different to test as they watch the food that's purchased over the summer.

DL doesn’t have the DP. I’d be very surprised if they don’t accept the DP at HS SWGE. They always accepted it at Pandora and TSL.

I bet they will let people carry around alcoholic drinks within SWGE at DHS. I'd imagine alcoholic drinks served at DB7. By allowing alcoholic drinks to be carried around in SWGE in DHS it would help the line at Oga's Cantina.

Yes I'm aware - the OP specifically asked about being able to use dining plan credits to get food at one of the QS locations but using the alcoholic beverage option at one of the other SWGE locations that serves alcohol. As of now there hasn't been indications of whether DP credits will be accepted - but even if/when they are accepted in the land, Disney does not allow you to split up the components of your QS meal between multiple locations.

I am the OP and what I asked was if alcohol not being served in CS was a Disneyland thing, and if it might be different at Hollywood Studios.

It then evolved into an interesting discussion about differences in the parks (dry vs walking around with alcoholic beverages) and the possibly of the DP being accepted (which doesn’t exist in DL).

I kind of doubt serving alcohol at DB7 or anywhere else would help much with the crowds at Oga's. People aren't lining up to get in there so they can get a serving of alcohol. They want to see the cantina. MAYBE selling drinks in the souvenir mugs outside would help. But I doubt many people would see getting a Jedi Mind Trick outside as a substitute for sitting in the cantina.

I agree, it's the Cantina experience and DJRex.
I wonder if they will go full on reservations at Oga's and maybe have a couple of walk up opportunities. Like they do with BOG

might help a little, but I agree not much

Unless they open up like an outside seating area - sort of like the terrace outside Trader Sam's ... definitely not the same as being inside, but better than nothing

It would be nice to be able to have a drink or two while waiting for my turn in the Cantina, though.
