Some of the so-called upbeat people really can be nasty can't they? Oh well, to each their own I guess. I personally find WDW too interesting overall not to look at all aspects of it.

There are some posters that are always nasty and sarcastic. I guess they may think they're superior, maybe they are insecure about themselves? LOL! Not sure. Most people are very nice though. Not sure why most people think this is a doom and gloom thread. There are a lot of positive feedback which in fact is GREAT and good to hear. But Disney, along with other corporations are far from perfect. Some things are going downhill, but there are many positive aspects at Disney. Heck we LOVE Disney! We are planning for a December and February trip to the Yacht Club which is indeed FANTASTIC!

It's the title that makes people think like that. Brunette you do a good job of making threads that stick near the top lol :thumbsup2

Because to see all the good points people need to read this thread and not everyone wants to read 138 pages. :scared1:

If someone makes a judgment about the thread w/out having read it, then their criticism is not valid. They have "judged a book by it's cover."

:thumbsup2 Absolutely correct!

This is my biggest pet peeve about the DISboards. People constantly ask the same questions over and over, because they don't read, or, they make judgments, comments or give advice, for threads that they haven't even read. Huh?

As an English teacher, it makes me nuts! Tiger

True, but do they admit they did not even read it, probably not. This is why Brunette found herself in a position of constantly defending this thread.

Hey Albytaps-:wave2:

Well, come on over and give us your comments, the good, the bad the ugly! LOL! Everyone is welcome.:goodvibes

Hi Rie'smom, Tiger and Kelly!!!:wave2:

Thanks for your comments, it's very appreciative. I think this thread is all about the POSITIVE, and negative and everything in between which is D I S N E Y! LOL! All are welcome. Come one come all and give us your comments, good and or bad and everything in between. This thread does have a lot of good information, you just have to read it or at least part of it! LOL!

Brunette, if I were you I wouldn't even bother to defend the thread as zealously as you do. I just tell them that it's not a negative thread and then I leave it alone. I see people using this so-called negative thread as ammo against you sometimes and it stinks. If people read it, they'll see the truth.

Hi Planogirl!

Yes, one woman in a thread was scared to go to WDW because of all the negativity and mentions things going downhill. Sheesh! They should read the thread.

Thank you again for your gracious comments! I always enjoy your posts!

one of the reasons I like to read about others' not-so-good experiences is to properly plan for my next trip! becasue I will continue to go to Disney, and want the best experience possible.
and, in the end,it's up to ME to make that happen.

you can go to the "official" disney website, but that won't tell you what to avoid. the "dis" is a discussion board, and we are all here to help each other out.

like, I will tell whoever wants to listen that I think Captain EO is a waste of time. we saw it the first time and thought so. we saw it again this last July, and still think so. (and I saw the Jackson 5 in concert back in 1977 ,I think).
(i'm sure I saw the concert, just not sure of the year!:rotfl:) and i think Disney could do a lot more with the "lack of Imagination" Pavillion.
am I a "complainer?" no. I just think they dropped the ball here. and this info might help newcomers plan their time wisely. (and, yes, maybe disney mioght even Do something about that)
now, REAL MJ fans might still like the captain EO show, but I would still suggest passing the ride. disney knows its a bust, and isn't changing it.
there is a lot of info on this thread about thinkgs that have changed for the worse, and if nothing else, it helps people plan their trips.

I agree Smidgy. I personally like EO in a retro-campy sort of way but I can see that not everyone would like it. The Imagination pavilion is pathetic and so much could be done there not to mention the closed Wonders of Life. I dislike Mission Space too but Disney broke my heart when they got rid of the Horizons pavilion instead of refurbishing it so I'm probably not being fair about that one.

The wonders of life pavilon is a black eye for epcot. The eo thing is a repackaged 80's attraction.I would like to see it again but I would like to see something new too. Epcot reminds me of a mall that had some stores close and they just can't get a new store to fill in for the closed one. I like epcot but i am just not sure how many more vacant attractions they can afford to have!

Excellent analogy. I never would have thought of it, but now that you mention it, I think you pretty well summed it up. Such a shame to see seemingly abandoned buildings/areas around EPCOT.

Honestly I think this because the search function here is terrible. I'm not sure how to make it better but I've asked questions that have been asked before countless time and it's only after I've thrown up my hands in frustration over the search results I've gotten. ;)

That's really for a 'Do you think the DIS has gone downhill' thread but I did want to get that in. :rotfl2:

I keep thinking about the OP in 'relative value' terms. Is Disney still great, sure but is it the same relative value as a few years ago, probably not.

Dining plan isn't the same value, more trash incidents, more broken down monorails and rides, and at the same time higher room and ticket prices. Take that and add places like Universal narrowing the gap and it seems like Disney isn't the deal it used to be. It's still better than any I've been to but the gap between the best and everyone else is narrowing.

I beleive it is about 1 mile around. That was what my children were told when they marched around it with their High School marching band.

Hi Disneyfan55!

Wow, that seems like a long mile! LOL! But I'm sure you are right. Thanks for answering my question, I really appreciate it. :goodvibes

Brunette

The distance of the walkway around the lagoon in a full circle is actually just shy of 1.3 miles (measure in at 1.25something).

You may have better luck getting answers if you open a new thread and don't just post on an old one.

All in all, I HOPE Disney is not going downhill since I just bought into the DVC thing... there's at least 50 years of going to Disney resorts ahead of me.

I've never been too fond of WDW food so I'm not sure how much worse it can get. I don't ever remember a really bad dinner though. I guess the only thing that sticks out was a steak I got from the Sci-Fi diner several years ago that was not too good. I'll be trying several restaurants this trip (it'll be my first TS DDP.)

I do hate that they increase ticket prices but I didn't know it was every year... that is going to be ridiculous when it costs $100 for a single ticket. The good thing is that if you stay a week you're not paying much for the last few days. That's why I don't split my trip up (to go to Universal) because it's alot cheaper to just stay in Disney. I'll take a Universal trip once every few years.

The sad thing about this is at the current increase rate this is less than 6 years away.A franklin for a day at disney!
