Do you test drive your bag before Disney?

I'm chaperoning a kindergarten field trip to the zoo tomorrow and I'm planning on doing a test drive with my intended Disney bag to see how that works. I figure I'll have my lunch, sunscreen, wallet and a camera to carry around. Where do you test yours at?

Never done a test-drive but wanted to say what a good idea that is! I think I'll try ours out next time we go to the zoo. Thanks!

I didn't do an actual "test drive", but I did load the first backpack I bought with all of the stuff I planned to lug around. Once I put the loaded backpack on, I hated it - it dug into my shoulders - very uncomfortable! The second backpack was great - even fully loaded, very comfortable.

So even if you don't do a full-day test drive, at least put all the stuff in you plan to lug around and try it on.

Yes, I test drive all my bags. Sometimes on a field trip for school such as you are doing, and sometimes on local day trips with my family. I'd rather not find out I'm stuck down there with something that hurts on the first day. Plus, not all bags are equal in winter and summer. A bag that feels lightweight on top of coats or jackets in the winter, might scrape on my shoulders wearing a tank top during the summer months. :sad1:

Assuming that the women here always end up with all the stuff;) , go to a good sporting goods store and get a women's daypack. It will cost you a few dollars more but will last forever. You can comfortably wear the same one at Disney and other trips, hiking, bicycling, etc. They'll have plenty of separate compartments including a mesh compartment for wet stuff. A waist strap helps keep it comfortable on the longer walks and can be strapped up when you don't want the waist strap on.

I think I will testdrive not only the bag, but also the stroller and whatever we plan on packing on it. I would hate to lug too much unneccesary stuff with us all the way down!
