Do you talk on the phone to your spouse or siginficant other everyday while at work?

Yes! And it drives me crazy!!! But please don't tell my dh that, lol. I usually don't like being disturbed when I'm trying to get some work done but the few times I've tried to drop gentle hints to my dh that he doesn't need to call quite so often I've got the distinct feeling I am hurting his feelings. And for some reason I also get the feeling that he needs to talk to me during the day (to relieve a little stress?) so I always swallow down any agitation and have a nice little conversation with him. He will call 2-4 times a day but he's a very busy man so each conversation is very short, usually 2-5 minutes. At the very most 10 minutes. He must have learned this behavior from his dad though. I was at my Inlaw's home one day and my FIL called my MIL a half a dozen times and he never really needed anything that I could tell, lol.

yes, one of us usually calles once or twice a day and then emails just to say hi.

DH and I have a system. I call his direct line or cel phone. If he's busy he just doesn't answer (caller ID). If it's nothing important I just leave a message and he calls back when he has time. If I get his VM and it's really important or any sort of emergency I call back and he usually answers right away. He knows if I call twice it's important and I know that when I leave a message he'll always return my call.

Yes, he calls me almost everyday, just to say hi, and ask what's for dinner (I usually don't know, but he still asks). He works for the phone company, so calls me on the way to a job or while waiting for something to load (he does a lot of waiting). I don't call him because I never know if he's free. If I need to tell him something important, I e-page him. I can send an alpha page up to 200 characters. Sometimes I e-page him just to say hi, and I love you. My dad is so cute .....

My mom works from her home office, and my dad calls her at least 4 times a day. The phone rings every morning at 8 (when he arrives), during the lunch hour, in the afternoon when the kids get home from school, and right before he leaves at 5.


We gotta love the guy, as annoying as it gets sometimes

Only if I need to tell him something. He works for the highway dept. and is always on the road somewhere so I don't like to bother him. Sometimes he calls me just to say hi. We usually reserve dinner time to talk about our days.

We'll talk briefly to check-in with each other. Our hours are such that we don't often get to have dinner together during the week, so a little call a day helps with that

DH calls home pretty much every day. Although during the busy seasons he usually just calls to let me know what time he'll be home to help me guage dinner prep time. Slow season - sometimes he drives me crazy calling several time just because he's bored, but I guess it's nice that he likes to talk to me that much.

He called today to find out how DD's first day of school was.

Yes. I usually call her (sometimes vice versa) after lunch. We chat briefly about evening plans, etc.
