Hi
Sorry here goes another question from a newbie!

I am working out how to take our holiday money, now do i just take all Euros or am i best to take half euros half travellers cheques? (I don't even know how these work as i've never been abroad before):headache:

Just wondered how everyone else does it? I am taking around £530 roughly 750 euros so any advice will be more than welcome. please?????:confused3

Many Thanks

a very nervous first timer due to go next week!!!!!!:woohoo:

We now don't bother to take travellers chqs to Europe any more. We take some Euros & withdraw more from our debit card it's so easy. Also take a credit card for large purchases, food shopping & petrol.

Hi
Many thanks for the replies,
My only worry with using a debit/credit card is the charges i have heard it is really expensive to use them abroad even for withdraws am i right?

I wont be bothering with the cheques though they dont seem worth it by what you have been saying.

Thanks again
Jindy

That's why I have a Nationwide credit card and debit card purely for holidays. No comission charges like my LloydsTSB a/c and the exchange rate is business rate which is better than tourist :thumbsup2

Based on earlier threads, we have got one of these... it arrived 2 days after it was ordered online. It does cost £20 for the first issue but thereafter uploading e-money is free. Will report back how useful it was. :goofy:

i always take just euro's, but we do the trick of splitting them into little bundles and popping them in different bags, just incase any luggage goes missing!
looks like you've got urself sorted now tho which is good

Hi

Thanks again for the replies, I don't think i have enough time left to order the Nationwide card "shame" so i am going to take princess_tigerlily86 advice and take Euros in different bags!

As we are travelling by car hopefully wont be too much of an issue with lost luggage?? dare i say?

Anyway thanks again i just need to decide where to get Euros from now!! Thats the next prob LOL:rotfl:

We just take euros too. Mine are were nobody will find them ...... in a purse down my bra. I had very surprised people when I was in Disney when (on some occasions) I reached into my chest to get my money out, one shop assistant was highly amused by it. Well, it cant get out there and nobody will find it!!!!:rotfl2:

We also make use of the hotel safe too.:rotfl:

That was a great reply was not expecting that!:rotfl2:

Great idea though i don't think anyone think to look? Try there!
