**Let me preface this by saying yes, I have seen my cardiologist just last week and yes, I am following up with him this coming week.**

Lately I've been getting these bouts of upper back pain. It gets pretty strong at times but it comes and goes. I've also been having some heaviness in my chest. I'm not having any arm or jaw pain associated it with it.
My Dr said to give it a week and see how things go. If the pain gets severe take the nitro and see how I respond. If it helps then call the office and they will tell me how I need to proceed from there.

So this week the pain has been off and on. I haven't taken the nitro because by the time I think I should probably take some the pain is already subsiding. I figure if it's decreasing why bother, but then it will come back a while later. So if I had taken the nitro how would I know if it was that that worked or just it's 'cycle'.
It's kind of a hard thing to describe really. The pain is not brought on by anything either. I've been mindful of what I am doing when it occurs.

So, after all that, for those who do take nitro at what point do you take it? And then what do you do?

Three years ago I had upper back problems. I went to chiro, bought a new desk chair, etc. It felt better when I was flat on my back.

I had no clue (until I coughed up blood) that I had pneumonia!!! It was aspiration pneumonia caused by acid reflux. I never had a fever or "felt sick" although my back would just be killing me.

It took me over 6 months to totally recover.

I had a doctor give me nitro when it later turned out that I had gallbladder problems. It made it feel better for a day, but didn't fix anything.
