I have four kids and found that I often take just one group shot with each character, be it at a meal or around the parks. Sometimes, I'd like separate shots but I simultaneously feel it would be rude to ask for so much. What do you all think/do?

I think all 4 of your kids waited in line and if you want an individual picture - you should take it

I take more than one picture of my kids with a character while they are interacting and I certainly would never begrudge a child a chance to have a picture of just them and a character!!!!

I've got three little ones. We do autograph book. They each have their own - and they love them. We do re-read them at home :) (They are 6, 4, and 3. We put character stickers on each page so that they can "read" who signed each page).

Anyhow, I generally snap 1 or 2 "group shots" character plus my 3, but I snap a ton of candids while they are approaching the character and getting their books signed, so I get a few good shots of one child plus a character - usually close ups. They are candidas and they are sweet.

I do, however, snap special individual photos with special characters. DD 4 was dressed as Belle for a character breakfast so I snapped a group shot and an individual of her with Belle. Same for DD 6 when she dressed as Meg for a MGM visit.

So, I don't snap 3 individual shots, plus a group shot with every character, but I do get some sweet individual ones through candids or special situations. That works for me....scrapbooker, here :)

I do the same thing.

Last year my sister's family were with my son and I. At the time my niece was 5 and my nephew was 6, so characters were a big deal to them. Instead of taking one picture with each child, we had all three take group pictures.

I would hate to have a child futher back in line miss out on a picture and autograph because my family HAD to have individual pictures. I hate to see the look on a child's face when the realize the character is leaving before they get a chance to visit. :guilty:

The solo pictures we have are all from character meals and the character meet in Toontown.

Well, I only have two kids so its probably not quite the same, but I do individual pictures of them. Like another poster stated -they all stood in line so if you want to do individual pictures, you should. Its not the childs fault that they are with other children-they should still get their turn to be alone with the character.

The only exception is if they announce that he is getting ready to leave, then I would go ahead and do a group picture just out of common courtesy.

By the way, I don't always do individual pics with my two. We do mostly individual ones, but with some characters, we just do them together.

You've waited in line just as long as everyone else, unless you are arranging a wedding shoot :hourglass , take as many pic as you need. We take pics of walk up to the character, shaking hands, everything, even the posed shot. Thank goodness for the digital cam and the delete button if needed. :Pinkbounc

I do find that since all four of my kids approach the character at once, it is probably a bit overwhelming for the char too. I also feel they get less individual attention because of it. None of my kids have ever complained. It's just that I regret not getting individuals sometimes for their own personal scrapbooks and with their fave characters. They are after all, individuals and I try very hard to treat them as such instead of lumping them all together as "the kids." I suppose I may just try to get indiv. ones when we see their absolute favorite chars. I don't like to make others wait either, but after all, my kids had to wait too and it doesn't seem fair if one family with one child gets 45 seconds for just that child and my four children combined get 45 seconds.

We have two kids and we do a group shot with one kid on each side.
