Do you take information on your PDA?

I'm trying to make good use of my PDA this year, instead of just using it as a glorified address book.

Do you use one for your Disney trips? What information do you take? I've got all my flight info on it (as well as DH's, who is coming and going on different dates than us), park schedules, car rental info, hotel info. I'll also have it printed out, "just in case." But the printed info will be in the hotel room; I'll have this info with me. ::yes::

I haven't, but I will be taking it with me this trip.

There's a site called eguides to go. It has all kinds of hints, and tips AND a menu database that works with Deb Wills' menus. There's also a live entertainment update associated with it. It costs $8, but I think it's worth it! :)

There's another site....I can't think of where that has maps of the Disney parks!!!

If you're interested I'll dig around and find links for you.

I'd be delighted, Dan, but only if it's not too much trouble!!!!

Meh.

I was bored, so whether or not you want them! :teeth:

That's the EGuides to Go. It has tons of hints and tips, as well as the menus from Deb Wills' site, and Steve Soares' entertainment updates.

Mousemaps. It has maps of all 4 parks, and the hours for them as well.

The only downside to these is that you need iSilo. You can get a free trial copy, but it expires after 30 days. You then have to pay $19.95 to get a licensed copy.

EDITED TO ADD: If you pay your $8, there's a link to a FREE reader that will display all of the EGuides to Go pages. :)

Hey, thanks!! We're leaving Thursday, so I'll have two weeks to try them out. :teeth: Then I can decide if it's worth the $20.

Thanks again!

I'm brining my Dell Axim with me this trip. I'm going to keep it with my camera since I have a backback camera bag. I have my iteinary, park hourse/showtimes, PS and confermation numbers, and all my flight information.

I also have a backround of the Partners statue and the castle. This way I have a reminder everytime I turn it on.

:wave2: Hi Mare

I use it for all my confirmation info / PS info etc.... but since I don't carry it into the parks themselves, I have never loaded the menus & such. I really just use it in the morning before I go & the night before to see what plans I have the next day.... Let me know what you think of the menus etc.....

I'm such a commando in the parks, I'd probably kill my poor palm. I doubt water rides would be too good for it & I'm not the most careful person. :p

I use my Palm to list out the park hours, parade times, flight information and PS confirmation numbers. I brought my palm along with me in my fanny pack and it came in handy during my stay in October.

SnackyStacky, I need to check out those websites you listed! They sound great!

:sunny:

In the memo section I put where the hidden mickeys are, the parade stops, hidden tidbits to look for (such as the key under the mat at Muppets), location and info on the outlets, and we just joined DVC so I put all of the associated discounts on so I don't miss any.

Am I too obsessed?

I sent my mother to the websites you listed. She has one of those things and she can't live without it. Since we're leaving in 3 weeks, I thought she might enjoy blending her upcoming vacation with her mad passion for her handheld thingie.

I send SMS (text messages) to/from my wife when we're separated . . .

I keep my pre-World shopping list (it doesn't change from trip to trip) for our visit to Walmart . . .

Before our visit, I put our basic agenda and PS reservations.

I have Pocket Quicken so I try to keep track of the money that's flowing out my pocket or piling up on our resort "tab".

Thanks for tips on the menus, I may add them in October!

I do carry mine with me. I put the menus on it from EGuides to go. I love it, it's so much easier to decide where to eat.

My DH enters all our expenses into his Palm. When we get home he transfers it into excel and we know exactly how much we spent and on what. It's good for budgeting the next trip. But it's scary to see where all the money goes.

We also have our PS confirmation numbers and our schedule in there, too.

For you folks that organize PS and itineraries, do you have special programs to do that? Or do you just use the calendar and memo functions??

I do it in WORD on my desktop, and then transfer it to my PDA via "Documents to Go" (which can be quirky and I don't love it).

Keep it all on my Sidekick. It is my cell phone, text pager, email, tty, address book and PDA all rolled into one piece of equipment. I can even DIS from it.

I have the Samsung i600 which is a Smartphone (phone and pda in one). There is a website: www.handango.com that has lots of programs (some free) for pdas and pda phones. I have all my contacts and schedule on hand, plus Listpro (you can make any kind of list-ie I collect the state quarters and list the ones that I need, grocery, packing, etc), Ewallet (a password encrypted program that you can store anything on), a few games to pass the time, pocket streets (can download maps onto a memory card), photo viewer, media player, etc. The possiblities are almost endless as long as you have memory! It comes in handy when filling out forms in the dr office (have all the info on hand), mailing stuff, rsvp #s, etc.
